Players are dropped into an enclosed open map with a timer indicating how long they have until the water rises. The goal is to build a raft with a collection of props. Once the water has filled the map, players battle each other by destroying their opponents' rafts.
Strategic use of prop materials and various weapons can turn the tide of any battle. Each material has a matching weapon. Each prop floats differently. Rafts can become easily unbalanced knocking off their passengers. Players in the water have only seconds to swim to safety.

Garry from Garry's Mod has offered rewards for high-quality Fretta gamemodes. This is the incentive that I need to bring my round-based floating-fort gamemode to everyone. Previously it has been an SGC-Clan and JokerIce exclusive gamemode. Soon it will be available to everyone!
There will be a lot of changes. The gamemode will target shorter, more intense sessions and better rewards. Also, there will be power-ups to be earned during game play that will buff your damage, increase your earnings and provide emergency rafts.

OK so?! coming out 1st Febuary? and am here but i cant download it -_- I was waiting from september 2009 until this mod comes out! and I said to myself asoonest it comes out I buy server on gmod and host this gamemode?! c'mon Narkaleptic!!!!!!!
sorry but this only has one thing new to flood mod and that could be determined if you took basic science and know what floats and what doesn't. Not really a mod. Just a slight change in source code from another mod :P
And by the way, waterworld is already taken as a name. It has a lot of sweet things added to it that make it a lot more total conversation. check it out on the facepunch page :p
@Av7xrocker97: You are incorrect. While "Flood Mod" came first, Waterworld was coded from scratch; it is NOT a "slight change in the source code", and has a very different feel of play. I like to think it's better.
@GuineaForce: JokerIce.co.uk have been given authorisation to run a copy of Waterworld on their own servers exclusively, in an attempt to make Waterworld easier to access for the UK and Europe. Narkaleptic holds the exclusive rights to the gamemode, originally hosted exclusively by The SGC-Clan. JokerIce do not perform active development for Waterworld, but they do perform maintenance changes and specific community tweaks to make it suit their community.
