First of all I would like to apologize for the hiatus. (As stated before, being a student isn't time friendly)
The state of Wars of Middle-Earth
As many of you have pointed out, it has been a long time since this project started and there is still nothing out. I was too ambitious when I started and my work was spread out on 15 civilizations (countless maps, natives...). Then I proposed a year and a half ago to downsize the first release. The problem is that the downsize was too large still. I also had to rework major concepts to give cohesion to the different races (cultures). So naturally now I have decided to down size the first release again and have the remaining content released later on. It's for the benefit of all. The civilizations, maps, and natives that are complete (or mostly complete) will be the ones in the eventual first release. It does annoy me that several more iconic civs won't be in the first release (Gondor, Morodor..).
The mod needs helpers
In the past there have been many contributors that have offered help (Titan Joker, Lesketin, among many) and I'm very grateful for their help. Moving forward If anyone who knows how to mod would like to help you are welcome.
If there is anyone who knows how script AI or make 3d models in AoEIII and would like to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Especially AI scripters. Right now there has been no progress done with AI in the mod because I don't know how to and I haven't had much time to learn. The AI is essential for the first mod release. If you can help in this area please send me a PM.
Thank you all for your immense patience! I know how hard it must be to be waiting so long. Thank you again.
A Good News is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when it means to.
You're wrong. AI script is not trully essential for a first release. Neither 3d models. Just release what you have at your hand now. At least that is for SoI Premiere...
Meh... Depends on the mod really... SoI's can make use of the vanilla + expansion assets with excellence as the time-periods/setting are somewhat similar.
The more you move the setting of mod from the original game, the harder it gets for making *graphicly* stunning mods... I know that for a fact, and Checanos has been a f*ck*ng champion adapting AoE3 to the Middle-Earth setting.
Thanks! I try and also incredible people have helped contribute.
