Why Visions? We believe that EA Games delivered a fun RTS game in BFME2 but abused the newly gained Book License. They made up units and heroes, most of them making no sense when placing them in Middle Earth. That's were Visions comes in. The goal of this mod is to make the game more fun, more real and more appealing. We intend to make the game more faithful to the source material, and also to the realistic designs of WETA workshop in the movie. We also intend to improve the quality of art assets, removing chunky dwarves, and replacing awful re-used assets from BFME1.

I have intensively playtested The Battle for Middle-Earth 2, and came to the following conclusion. It.Is.Not.Enough. The Elven side has only 5 units, while if EA had spent a bit more time, the variation could have been much bigger. Well, I guess this is were we come in. EA's unit list: Lorien Swordsman

I have intensively playtested The Battle for Middle-Earth 2, and came to the following conclusion. It.Is.Not.Enough. The Elven side has only 5 units, while if EA had spent a bit more time, the variation could have been much bigger. Well, I guess this is were we come in.

EA's unit list:

Lorien Swordsman
Lorien Archer
Mirkwood Archer
Mithlond Sentry
Rivendell Lancer

Visions unit list:

Lorien Swordsman
Lorien Marchwarden
Mirkwood Archer
Woodland Sentry
Elite Marchwarden
Mithlond Sentry
Rivendell Lancer
Rivendell Sentinel
Galadhrim

The Lorien Swordsman remains mainly unchanged, for early game cheap infantry purposes. The Lorien Archer gets replaced by the Lorien Marchwarden, who instead of heavy armor can receive a Stealth upgrade, allowing them to be stealthed anywhere when standing still and idle. The Mirkwood Archer remains the same, except for a thorough reskin and remodeling. The Woodland Sentry is a single, powerful unit wielding a spear or bow. The Elite Marchwarden can be purchased only in the new Elven Mallorn Flet building, along with the heroes Rumil and Orophin, brothers to Haldir. A basic outlay:

Elven Mallorn Flet

Produces Elite Marchwardens as a single unit, also gives you acces to Rumil and Orophin.

Rumil - 800

lvl 1: Bow/Sword toggle
lvl 5: Golden Arrow
Deals a moderate amount of damage to enemy heroes
Lvl 10: Leadership
+50 damage to Elite Marchwardens

Orophin - 800

lvl 1: Bow/Sword toggle
lvl 5: Elven Cloak
Orophin blends in with the environment when standing still.
lvl 10: Leadership
+50 defence to Elite Marchwardens

That's it for the Elven side for now.
