Recently, we had a talented modeller join our team, who goes by the name of ADUBZ. He has joined as a vehicle modeller, and today we have some excellent showcases of his work, which will be featured in the mod. Although cannonically some of these vehicles were not yet invented by the era in which the mod takes place, but they will still be featured in the mod. All vehicles have full interiors and cockpits, including the larger freighters, which will be featured in an upcoming update. We appreciate comments, as it lets us know what the community would like to see!
Additionally, we have some new concept art, done by our two dimensional artist Shadez. These concepts depict various planets which will be played in the mod.
RZ-1 A-wing Interceptor
The A-wing is well known as one of the fastest ships in the Rebel Fleet, and was designed to be able to match and exceed the agility and speed of the infamous TIE Interceptor. However, because of its agility and speed, the armament is very light, as well as shielding and armor, so it relies on speed rather than brute force. It is a well known fact that only the bravest (or most insane) pilots will volunteer to be in an A-wing squadron. This A-wing is fully modelled, but the textures are not complete, they are more placeholders. We are in the process of making it fly well ingame.
Featured only briefly in the movies, the cloud cars of Bespin are an extremely effective craft for atmospheric control. Their ion engines and repulsor engines can combine to yield speeds exceeding 1600kph. There are two separate, pressurized pods, the port one housing the pilot with a communications array, and the starboard pod housing a gunner, controlling a powerful dual blaster cannon. In our mod, we will feature this in multiplayer, with one pilot and one gunner. We may create a bomber variant as well. Again, the textures are not final. Cockpit interior is completed.
