Hello everyone! After a couple of weeks since release, we've collected together a number of joystick and controller profiles and resources collated together by the community. The unfortunate reality is despite attempts to make XWA more friendly to modern controllers, the game is still 22 years old and some frequent issues or confusions do keep popping up. So please follow the below link to visit a github page we've setup which contains several different profiles for various joysticks and controllers

TFTC Joystick & Controller downloads: Github.com

Many of these profiles are using the XWA txt file, so download the profile of choice to a location of your choice, open the launcher and run the Joystick Configurator. Select Open in the top right and then you can import the txt file you just used and then save. If you find your joystick or controller is not mentioned here then please submit your own profile to us or join our Discord server to do so.

Another common issue is for the Player to find themselves endlessly spinning or rolling about. First be sure to disable the Rudder in the in-game menu which can be accessed by pressing ESC and then in the joystick configurator, you can also modify the axis controls here as well or even bind an axis to a non-existent controller ID in the joystick configurator to stop some rolling or spinning issues. If you for some reason don't have a joystick or even a controller, the game can even be controlled purely by keyboard and mouse. To do this, use the Babu Frik Configurator to turn on joystick emulation and set the mouse sensitivity.

If you have some other issues or want to submit a joystick/controller profile to us, you can also join our Discord server and post in the joysticks-and-contoller channel for help from the community.

My main issue with joystick controls is that modern Windows has removed the ability to configure deadzones for DirectInput controllers. Disabling "EnableSmallMovement" seems to help, but it would be nice to have a way to fully customize pitch, yaw, and roll dead zones. I do appreciate that this is an XWA engine problem and not a TFTC one.
