Hey everyone, with the release of the Sith Wars II so close, I thought I would take some time to tell the story of how the mod came to be, as the Sith Wars would never have been without a few major events.
When I first started playing SWBF2 multiplayer online, I found a server called ~Sith Empire~. This was a serious RPG based clan, with primary focus on duels, lore, and a rank system. For the next 4 years I would be a part of this system, under the leadership of some of my now good friends. Wanting to leave a mark on this clan, I decided to, largely with the help of the talented Darth Khan and Darth Aphotic, create a mod map for us to train on. This map would become Sullust: Sith City.
Sullust was intended as a multiplayer map, with 20 new training units, a large metropolis filled with locations for individual members, and new force powers. Although it isn't intended for singleplayer, I'll throw in a link in case you want to explore. Download Sullust: Sith City
For my next project, which was both a clan mod as well as my first real publication, was the Sith Wars. Containing 3 new sides, Sith Wars was intended to give Sith themed units on stock maps for clan training, dueling, and meetings, as well as give a fun experience for any Battlefront 2 player. In addition, I wanted to create a sort of monument to some of the greatest Sith lords throughout Star Wars, thus Sith Legends was born. I had an overwhelmingly positive response on this specific mode, being recognized as the highlight of the mod. However, the lack of polish on Sith Legends and Sith Wars 1 left me wanting to make a proper mod of it. The Sith Wars was released in 2014, and can be downloaded here (note: requires v1.3 patch).
Later that year, Gamespy would shut down, rendering the SWBF2 online community dead. At that point, my online career ending alongside my motivation to create mods. Hastily deleting my source files, I canceled my last project, Malachor V. It was not until nearly two years later that I had decided to continue making mods.
I knew that I wanted a focus on singleplayer, while still giving a unique experience, different than any other mod. Although I was tempted to do a Clone Wars/GCW inspired mod, I just though about how many mods were already out there with that concept in mind. I had decided to give the Sith Wars a proper finish, in an all new mod, the Sith Wars II. Taking inspiration from SWTOR, KotOR, and many of my favorite Legends stories, such as Crimson Empire and Heir to the Empire, I created some rough prototypes for how the units of Sith Wars II would look like; soon after, the mod was well underway.
And now, just a few days away, the Sith Wars II is coming. Featuring over 40 new units, a handful of new force powers and abilities, and the return of the Sith Legends mode, the Sith Wars II will be one of the most unique and entertaining mods yet. That's a promise.

I remember my online days too.... While it's still possible to play online, it'll never be the same. Thanks for keeping my favorite game of all time alive through this amazing mod.
Also, is the 31st the release date or just an estimate?
Excellent article, Darth. It's great to hear the passion you have for the community and see the work you've put in to continuing it. No worries about the release date and delays, it's been worth the wait.
Here's to another 10 years of Battlefront II.
Good
Do you know if this will be online compatible? I use Gameranger as my online supplier.
It should, but I haven't tested it. However, you might have problems with Sith Legends online, because of the new mode.
He, everything got on the old games whent to **** with gamespy getting down lol
