We are finally back, ready to show you our first teaser!
Also, it's time to give an answer to a number of questions
many of you might had already asked:
- How different is BFME Reforged is going to be in comparison to the original BFME series (gameplaywise)?
As there is a new engine, all code is being rewritten completely, the gameplay of BFME: Reforged might be different from the original one, however we will do our best to preserve as much of the old gameplay as we can. The main difference is going to be the realistic physics (units not stacking with others and etc).
- Will there be building spots or is it going to be free build like in BFME2?
We like it both ways, but we will make the free building system like in BFME 2.
- Will there be a campaign?
Now we are mainly developing the multiplayer. If everything is successful, a campaign will, of course, be made, but that is a secondary task.
- When do you expect the game to be released and when will we see the first gameplay?
The project is non commercial, so it's impossible to say anything exact concerning the release date. We will be showcasing our progress on our website and here.
We hope to release the first beta-version in the beginning of the next year, it's possible that some testers could be invited to take part in testing this autumn to help us develop the game mechanics.
- How big is the expected size of the game is going to be? How is the multiplayer going to work? Will gameranger be required?
It's far too early to talk about the game's size. We would like to make a convenient multiplayer and create a large player community, so they could find someone to play with regardless of daytime, be it 1x1 or a team game. Also, we simply can't make it without an automatic rating system (clanwars). And most likely the game will use something else but not Gameranger.
- What happened to the ModdB page? What was going on?
We had a very unpleasant situation. It turned out to be that our 3d modeler in several cases heavily relied on assets from HD Edition Mod unbeknownst to the others due to many of us not accustomed to mods. Of course, after we realised what really happened, we apologised to the team and gratefully promised to give a full credit for their work. Now we are back here after our page being shutdown for obvious reasons, ready to share our progress again.
- What about copyright issues?
Yes, we worry a bit, when it comes to Warner B. and their possible reaction, however, take many examples of non commercial projects of Total War, Skyrim or other engines. We still have an advantage: Unreal Engine 4 is free for non commercial projects, so anybody could play the game for free!
We do not disrupt the business of Warner Brothers - BFME is a strategy, RTS and Warners don't develop any game strategy-projects. Even if they ask us to stop the development of the project, we will do our best to make a deal, perphaps, they could eventually make this game themselves after realising how many people so want it.
We've created our representative YouTube channel and a Website to further extend our accessibility. We are trying to keep releasing different stuff regularly, so stay tuned for updates!
BFME: Reforged Team
I'm glad that you are back here!
Holy **** this looks amazing
Super excited!
Questions:
Will we be able to build our own hero like bfme2?
Will it be as balanced as the bfme2
Thank you and good luck
If you don't include any movie story elements you may be fine. But WB will probably take this down whenever they feel it has actually made any progress. They are not the sort that will just make a deal with random modders.
Yes!!!
Is this really going to be allowed?
please use the official translations (voices and texts) for this wonderful project I would love to see it in Spanish
f*cking excited already
Support This mod, whenever they (Warner Bros) tryin shut it down!
Warner Bros might shut you down soon, or the people (I'm not sure if it's WB) that are making the Sim movie.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm totally buzzing with excitement!
wow amazing!
BFME 1 Citadels and such are far superior than the BFME 2 System, I wish you were doing the original build system
