"THAT" is a single player source mod that runs on the 2007 SDK engine. It is more of an art installation than it is an actual game, it is my also one of my personal endeavors to push the "games as art" movement which I strongly believe in. The game features abstract surreal scenery and doesn't really contain an objective, it is more of a game to relax to and explore. The game is set in a grid of 9 maps, starting in the center (5th map). You can travel between the maps at your own leisure. I hope you enjoy it and that it encourages game designers to think outside the box when it comes to creating games.

Now that the mod has been authorized I can't wait what you guys have to say about the game! If there's anything you would like me to include in a future version please let me know, take note that this mod was created entirely in hammer so anything that requires any programming will be opted out since I have no programming skills whatsoever.

Next version I will release the VMFs and textures so you can edit/create new maps at your own leisure and see how I was able to create a game using nothing but hammer scripting. I hope this encourages independent level designers/map makers to go ahead and create games without relying on a programmer, finding workarounds and down-sizing your projects so they become more feasible.

I was able to create this mod in a total of 1 month of extensive work (sleep optional), I started with a simple grid of 9 maps

dynamic
[ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ]
grounding [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ] lifting
[ 7 ] [ 8 ] [ 9 ]
static

I refined the grid and assigned areas to each part of the grid, each became more solidified the more I worked on them. Once I got tired of working on one area I proceeded to the next and repeated the process in a loop untill each map was considerably complete. I created models for this mod but unfortunately it's been impossible for me to import them into source ( I pinned it down to my version of maya ) and figuring it out ate too much development time so I decided to use hl2 models and turn recognizable characters into silhouettes.

Did you licence the use of the Philip Glass music in this mod or are you infringing copyright with it? I don't want desura to get into trouble.
