The civil war for Skyrim is over, but the victor has been left bloody and the province is in chaos. Whiterun is slow to recover. Rumors of a new threat are seeping their way into every tavern and hold in Skyrim. Dark agents have been seen in the countryside and now the Jarl of Falkreath has been murdered. It will be too late before the terrible truth of what is really happening is realized, and Skyrim and the Empire will pay the ultimate price for allowing the civil war to distract them from the real crisis. In secret, under the very nose of the Empire, the Thalmor have worked silently to reforge the Alderi Dominion. A new alliance between the Thalmor, Valenwood, Elsweyr, the Black Marsh, and the remnants of Morrowind is now poised to seize all of Tamriel. Hammerfell has fallen, and Cyrodiil is on the verge of collapse. Only Skyrim is left to preserve the free peoples of Tamriel.
