Features previously posted about in recent articles, including shims for Sigil and newly released Sigil II and code necessary to support them, are now part of the full and compact downloads. As no new testing build is provided at this stage, the testing distro has been taken down to avoid confusion.
Dec 17th update: Please download the preferred distro again, as it has ben updated to include a bugfix for Sigil E5M8 and SIGIL II E6M8. Only shim WAD-s have been updated.
Note: Please be sure download one of the two updated ZIP-files for up to date Sigil II shim wad, if you intend to play it and then the following steps apply:

Install Tartar with DOOM.WAD IWAD

Drop Sigil and/or Sigil II WAD-s into the same directory

Drop SIGIL.WAD and SIGIL_II.WAD from GOODIES\SHIMS directory in the distribution into SHIMS directory where TARTAR is found. For example:
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\TARTAR.EXE
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\DOOM.WAD
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\SIGIL_v1_21.WAD
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\SIGIL_II_V1_0.WAD

C:\GAMES\TARTAR\SHIMS\
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\SHIMS\SIGIL.WAD
C:\GAMES\TARTAR\SHIMS\SIGIL_II.WAD -
To play Sigil run
TARTAR.EXE -file SIGIL_v1_21
if your system supports long file names - or -
TARTAR.EXE -file SIGIL_~1
if your system does not support long file names and SIGIL_~1 is the shortened name for the PWAD -
To play SIGIL II run
TARTAR.EXE -shim SHIMS\SIGIL_II -file SIGIL_v1_21 SIGIL_II_V1_0
if your system supports long file names - or -
TARTAR.EXE -shim SHIMS\SIGIL_II -file SIGIL_~1 SIGIL_~2
if your system does not support long file names
Note: make sure Sigil is loaded before Sigil II though as otherwise textures will not be shown correctly
