Lazzio is one of the most prominent officers of the Condottieri Militia of Corbanile, as his battle experience is second to none among their ranks. During the Great War, he, under the command of the fearless General Battaglion, fought the Doge and his puppets, traversing almost the entire Vinci lands in the process and raising the Mianan flag on the rubble of Doge's capital. Later, he would be amidst the few Vinci soldiers continuing Giacomo's struggle across the heated sands of the Kalahese desert. His records there are said to be enormous. as he not only endured the harshest tests of Aio's nature but also took part in the final battle between Giacomo and the Doge at the ancient city of Mezekesh, where, ultimately, he lost his right hand and decided to return back to Corbanile, bidding farewell to the shredded remains of his unit.
His supposed retirement at home, however, did not happen. Corbanile was in the middle of extremely rapid industrialization, and Leopoldo, the new magistrate of state, was in charge of it. However, Leopoldo's efforts required vast amounts of cheap working hands, which was quite hard to achieve in a province with small population concentrated in just a few mining cities. In order to fix that, Leopoldo enforced strict policies upon the local Condottieri bandits, driving these war-torn raiders and brigands into imprisonment and forced labour. Yet, Leopoldo's goal in mind wasn't just cleansing the land of crime, but more so removing the Condottieri in order to have undoubtful military power in the entire region.
Soon enough even the veterans of the Great War were getting forced intro prisons, as Corbanilian land turned into one gigantic factory in control of a man with unknown yet surely dubious motivs. Not wanting to give up nor his former brothers in arms, not his state, Lazzio decided to organize an open revolt, forming the new Corbanilian Condottieri Militia and taking up arms against Leopoldo and his rule.
