The hardest thing about installing mods for Torchlight 2 pre-guts is knowing where your PAK directory is.
it will either be in 1 of the 2 following places, For RUNIC downloaded Torchlight 2 it should be:
C:\Program Files\Torchlight II\PAKS
for STEAM downloaded Torchlight 2 it should be: (either x86 or non x86 depending on your 64bit?)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Torchlight II\PAKS
I have the steam version, the steam directory is a direct copy and paste, and the RUNIC is second hand information. Now, once you locate that PAKS directory, and you have SYNERGIESV142.ZIP.. you USUALLY can double click the zip file, whever ever you downloaded it.. and a window will open with TWO PAK files. a SYNERGIES.PAK and a SYNERGIES.DAT.PAK in most cases you can select these two files (ctrl-A) and simply drag and drop them into your PAK directory.. if the files are already there, OVERWRITE. and you are done.
conversely if you don't understand drag and drop proceedure you could unpack them anywhere you want, and copy / move them into the pak folder already unpacked.
your main goal will be unpack the zip file, then put the data.pak and the .pak files INTO the PAK directory. without those files, you have no mod.
I assume to not overwrite the original DATA.PAK correct?
im not very good with computers where exactly do i search it i have it on steam and im running windows 7

Hi there. This is the first time to know that there is a mod version of Torchlight 2. I immediately downloaded the latest version of 1.47c
I really like to try the necromancer job. I follow the instructions on how to install the mod version. Everything in the 1.47c zip file, I paste them on the PAK folder.
but I can't create a necromancer. Still there are only four jobs.
what did i do wrong? or is there any patch i still need to download first?
by the way my torchlight version is from runic
version 1.9.5.1
please help i have downloaded and copied into PAK files still no extra class please advise?? Many thanks

I have a problem with the mod. And the problem is that i have a synergy.mod data in my zip file and not 2 PAK files. Can anyone help me?
When I unzip the download I only get one file - SYNERGIES.MOD - I put that file into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Torchlight II\PAKS folder but no change in the game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

With last updates, you have to install in C:\users\(your account name)\my documents\my games\runic games\torchlight 2\mods.

Also ... the format of the files are not .PAK it's .MOD ..... Also there is only one file of the .Mod per zip files !!! .... What is that supposed to be ????
I just downloaded this mod for my Windows 7 (64) PC... my install (non-Steam) of this game somehow put itself in my ...Users\Public\Games\etc...
However, that's where the .pak files are.
To access the mod folder, it's actually much simpler than this original guide:
I found my mod folder at:
My Documents\My Games\Runic Games\mod
Paste the synergies.mod file into the mod folder, then launch the game with the modlauncher (second option down on the main launcher) and select Synergies.
you must download fix ModLauncher
put it on C:\Program Files (x86)\Torchlight II
then take synergies on mods
and then play with ModLauncher.
it works!

How do you install if you downloaded TL from Steam? It doesn't work following the original PAKS folder instructions.
