For me the upgrade from Officer Storm Troopers to Royal Guards didn’t really pack much of a punch. The stats stay mostly the same and their isn’t the biggest equipment upgrade either. The current royal guards fulfill a much needed niche for the imperial troop tree (heavily armored long range back line) but I feel there is a much bigger hole needed filling melee units, yes I know rancors, Jedi/Sith, and mercenaries (most notably chewbacca berserkers) exist but if you don’t have a fiefdom the first two go out of the question and the mercenaries often don’t fit any kind of themed army (same with rancor’s and force sensitives honestly especially the rancors) so I have two suggestions actually 2 and a half. For both of these introduce some alternative for royal guard that acts as current ones do, (not entirely sure what maybe storm trooper commander or grizzled officer?) It should be a bit better then the current ones as I recommend increasing exp for officer to lvl up (probably increase trainer, tactics, leadership IK leadership is useless on troops, and maybe hp.) but as for the royal guards I recommend one of two options. First change its weapon to a heavy pistol of some kind rather then a rifle, just to nod to the lore and change the weapon proficiencies as well, second give it more acrobatics powerstrike iron flesh and increase its polar arms skill by 50ish and give force pikes a bit of a boost maybe 5 extra swing and thrust damage. Second option (you can do this with the first of you want) once more pistol instead of rifle but don’t buff its stats, instead allow it to upgrade to shadow guard (probably similar exp as knight to master or rancor to mutant rancor) Shadow guard should have the following equipment, armor: shadow guard set obviously weapons: red lightsaber pike force lightning force master(or knight) p damage and probably either 2nd or 3rd tier force shield. Mount: none. and the following stats, Hp 70 (not sure exactly how you want to distribute that between strength and iron flesh) don’t care about what lvl. Wage: 100-200 attributes: 20-30 str 18-25 agi 10-16 int and 10 chr. Skills iron flesh 5-10 powerstrike 7-10 force power 6-8 shield 6-8 athletics 7 weapon mastery 10 trainer 2-3 tactics 3 prisoner management 4 leadership 7 any skills not mentioned I really don’t care where you put them. Weapon skills: pole arms 250-400 force power 200-300 once more not mentioned don’t care. Class: infantry upgrades: none 2.5 suggestion cut them out from the imperial tree and make them a fiefdom improvement Royal Guard Training Ground or the like. Line goes RG recruit 500 cost recruit not sure about stats or equipment to RG to RG captain once more not sure about equipment or skills to SG to maybe even SG captain which has all the high balled stat ranges while regular SG has all the low balls.
