A mod for hl2 Ep2 about a man who has to search for his lost memory throughout his situation of horrifying and haunting hallucinations aswell as being followed by the government.
Not half bad, I must say. I think using a sprite on the lights to add some depth, make them a bit more green to really sell the mood, and making one or two lights out would be the difference between 'not half bad' and 'looks great.' At least, when it comes to the lighting itself, that is.
Having spaces between the lights that are really dark, such as making one of the lights out, so that area is significantly darker than the others, can do a few things that are really great. 1) It gives the player a focal point, one spot darker than the rest will give the player a sense of direction, which is super good. 2) It will break the visual pattern; similar to the first point, one light out will make the space significantly more interesting, and it will feel a little less like a pattern that way, making it more believable and realistic, even if that's not particularly more real in the actual world. 3) It sets a tone. You want this place to be a little bit eerie and oppressive? making it so that one light is out will make that one hallway feel much more dangerous than the rest. It will make the player hesitate and think about the situation, which is the key to making a good map. So that's just a few pointers to really bring this to the next level. I apologize for this being such a lengthy comment. I also don't mean to lecture you, please don't take it that way. I'm not saying your map here is bad, just saying that it could be improved.
