Wow. Even with the hangar enlarged it still looks like it barely fits in there.
Well, the wings in TFA seemed to retract and overlap, so if the authors are able to create that animation, it would fit more easily.
Nope! It's not a feasible animation for this game due to its hard-coded mechanics. Sorry!
There's nothing hardcoded that would prevent you from having the wings retract as a part of the landing/takeoff animation.
Not that it'd really help the hanger height issue regardless.
Well due to how the animations are setup (Only takeoff and base) there would be no way to fit it in the hangar it needs to land in since it wouldn't start retracting until it was inside it already. By hard-coded I meant that there's no other way to trigger an animation than by landing.
So make the retraction part of the landing animation???
Then you'd land Outside the hangar :P
(Ship always falls straight down when you start landing)
