It has come to my attention that due to an update Creative Assembly did on Steam, most old ways of launching mods through the Steam version of Medieval II Total War do not work anymore. Thankfully, Guan Ziyang on Total War Center has revised his Universal Mod Launcher (UML) so that it can launch any Medieval II mod. I will instruct how to do this with my mod.
First go here to download UML: Twcenter.net
Open the archive (I use Winrar for 7zips and the like), then open the folder inside the archive, and extract the file called Launcher into the mod folder (On my system, this is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\CBUR).
Finally, open CBUR.cfg with notepad. In the file, you will see:
## enable battle editor
editor = true
## relative mod path
mod = mods/CBUR2
Change CBUR2 to CBUR.
(NOTE: Alternatively, you could just rename the mod folder itself to CBUR2. The mod folder name and the mod path in the config file have to match in order for Launcher.exe to work.)
Now just double click on Launcher.exe to start the mod.
I will update my mod in the future so you don't have to do any of this, but for now this will allow you to play my mod. Thank you for your patience. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner.
If anyone needs any further help with this, feel free to PM me.
