Makes the Senate playable in the SPQR Total War mod.
Made the Senate to be playable in Lt's SPQR mod for Rome Total War.
The download contains three files:
- descr_strat
- export_descr_buildings
- export_descr_unit
First back-up the original files.
Download the file, save it somewhere you'd like to, then:
1. descr_strat
1. Copy the downloaded file descr_strat.
2. Go to: X/Program Files/Activision (or The Creative Assembly) / Rome Total War/Data/World/maps/campaign/imperial campaign.
3. Paste the file.
4. It will ask you if you're sure to replace the file, click Yes.
5. Now you can play a new campaign as the Senate!
2. export_descr_unit
Now you can play as the Senate. However, you can't recruit any soldiers. (only Praetorians and Archers I think)
To add units, follow the next instructions:
1. Copy the downloaded file export_descr_unit.
2. Go to: X/Program Files/Activision (or The Creative Assembly) / Rome Total War/Data.
3. Paste the file.
4. It will ask you if you're sure to replace the file, click Yes.
5. Now the Senate has all the units you need. However, you can't recruit them yet;
3. export_descr_buildings
Now it's time to make the units recruitable. What I did is make all units recruitable through the Government buildings (palaces etc).
1. Copy the download file export_descr_unit.
2. Go to: X/Program Files/Activision (or The Creative Assembly) / Rome Total War/Data.
3. Paste the file.
4. It will ask you if you're sure to replace the file, click Yes.
5. Now you can recruit units and generals.
Important: Do NOT click on the ''Senate'' tab in your faction menu. Because you are the senate, the game will CTD! (Crash To Desktop)
change only the descr_strat.txt (not the other 2 files)
play all except
romans_brutii
romans_scipii
numidia
slave
(these ones seems not to work)
senate at this way:
you start with 6 superior senators ;) superior cavalry with 3 hitpoints.
you have 2 million denari.
you can build something ok, but as the military buildings are missing in the building bowser, I am not sure if you can build any units.
but you need not. the first full army you can buy -> mercenaries.
this makes fun...but is hard (if you cannot built pratorians)
otherwise this would be only a gameplay like in common rome playing senate.
ps. if you play senate only with the descr.strat.dat changed, you can build no units except spy and assassin.
no... also no praetorians or archers, like commended. so buying mercenaries only and playing without ships is a nice try
