"Eisenfaust Edition" series of mods are made to bring surprise and new twists to classic Wolf3D gameplay while keeping the oldschool charm of classic Wolf3D. It has new enemies, Bosses, weapons, features, enemy actions and attacks, scenery interactivity, missions. So many surprises to discover or get discovered by. Get Psyched! “Like ID should’ve done it” is overused but I can use it anyway in relation to those editions. Enemies are now more challenging and surprising, but you also have wider weapon selection and optional missions to care for. Have fun discovering all the new features, not all you meet right away.

Description

We proudly present Eisenfaust edition of SoD Extreme (1). We've got many new surprises for you this time, much beyond what Eisenfaust Edition of SoD Extreme II had to offer - new additional enemies, Bosses, weapons, features, enemy actions and attacks, scenery interactivity, missions. So many surprises to discover or get discovered by. Get Psyched!

We don't work with ECWolf, but if ECwolf modder will ask for permission to make ECWolf port of this, we will consider the offer.

I really don't know what should be the advantage of ECWolf port over SDL. Modability?

Wow! I love this mod so much. I didn't finish it yet (currently lurking around floor 6) but I can say it's really well done. What I really like about all of this is the side missions. They are fun to do and they increase the challenge a little bit. This is not a usual Wolfenstein 3D mod (Spear of Destiny in this case) where we go around shooting nazis, picking up keys and finding the elevator. This is something greater... I feel like "Eisenfaust Edition" could be a new defintion. If someone else made a mod similar to this it could be described as "Eisenfaust Edition-like". :) Good job guys.

Thank you for those kind words :)

Yes, side missions are great, add to replay value also.

New definition? It's sort of "Brutal Doom" for Wolf3D - but without the "brutal" part. Gameplay reinterpretation. So I don't think we need a new definition, but I'm okay if it'll stick :) Indeed, this is something not done before, at least for Wolf3D.

We plan to continue Eisenfaust series further, so follow us.

P.S. If you love this so much - consider leaving rating and/or feedback on moddb, this helps to promote the mod.

As soon as I play the entire game on the hardest skill I will rate it, I promise (I guess it would be more fair). Currently playing on easy because of the mutants... Mutants are my kryptonite. That's the only thing I hate about the good old ID... Why did they have to make mutants? :D

Yeah, those are...annoying :)
And now they are even more tricky and dangerous. But what's Wolf3D without mutants?

good mod, but I miss controlling the game with WASD and Mouse.
The old school needs to be updated at least to adapt to the WASD + Mouse.

Seriously, excellent mod.

Here - you just need to replace your cfgsdl.sod with that "wasd" config file (renamed) and it should give you WASD controls. The executable was *not* updated.
