The purpose of this mod is to improve SOF2 Single Player experience to be far more "realistic". This includes weapon damage, ballistics, sounds, and textures.

I know some people like the mirror level of reflection on metal surfaces.
But for me I like to see imperfections in metal surfaces. I find it more visualy appealing and realistic if the metal surface has worn off parts that have higer levels of reflection. Maybe have some stains that reflect better the light and others not so much.
I completely agree with you, some weapon models looks terrible with that. But SoF 2 have some unusual graphical features that I don't know how to deal with. I've made new textures of RPG 7 and OICW, USAS, but without edition of spec texture or shader, then it's starting blinking mad. That's ugly, and this is the only way for now to solve glitch for me, or mask it, as you wish. If you had some experience with that graphical improvement, be my guest. This mod is of our collective, you can bring your best to it
I've only made a surface evaluation of SoF's shaders and my game moding experience is with Medal of Honor only.
I'll soon release a weapon skin pack in wich I tried to create a quasi specular/bump map texture and maybe also provide a tutorial with it.
Same, I'm not that good with all these shaders and other shader based things. I made textures, but without editing specular/bump and other texturing methods. Anyways, this mod more about remastering gameplay, weapons textures are minor bonus for solid weapon upgrade.
