This mod will turn Half-Life² into a realistic game with soft aiming that plausibly reminds you that you need to use Ironsights for precise aiming, and added screen effects like water and blood and a motion blur that some call terrible looking but others call awesome, but either way it masks a bad frame rate and you only see it if you are getting FPS under 40.
This game is really fun and addicting. There is a in-gameplay setup map that lets you adjust enemy skill very precisely, as well as how mild or over the top you want the blood effects to look before letting you choose the maps IN that settings level.
Enemies actually pose a challenge, because while it only takes a few shots to take THEM down in this mod, the trade off is that the same goes for you.
This mod includes a couple of maps like a zombie map and a few extra css maps that make this well worth the download on their own, But it doesnt stop there. Not only does it have that, It has the entire Half-Life² story remastered with new weapons, enemies, and models, With both a remastered version and an "enhanced" version which is very, VERY hard. The "Enhanced" version is like the Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time, Except with SMOD Half-Life².
Also, For the players that like to use cheats, there is something in store for you too. Typing "exec neo" in console gives you bullet time and a lot of weapons with unlimited ammo, and "exec bt_*(Bullet time setting here)* allows many different ways you can make that bullet time look, to the way the bullets fly to how fast the characters move.
SMOD: Tactical is a fantastic mod that provides the entertainment value of a full priced game, And huge thanks should be given to whoever restored its glory through project life after the valve engine update broke the original version.. 10/10 review, I am hooked on this game.
