Post news Report RSS New map, DMPro_Sewers, OUT NOW!

A new DM conversion of the Royal Sewers singleplayer level is now available for download.

Since the full release of the mod's been out for some time now, we've decided to go with a more publically available route with our updates. This means that whenever possible, we will release maps that can be played in advance in the current version of the mod without having to wait months for the actual update to arrive.

The first map to come out, DMPro_Sewers, is a DM conversion of the Royal Sewers level. Like with the other maps in the mod, it's very different from the others both visually and gameplay-wise. It's the first fully indoors map made for the mod. I've made it a LOT more different than the singleplayer version; for example, there is a central area where all the action occurs in, and waterway portals that will transfer you to different areas across the map very quickly, so the map will never feel too big, even though it's quite large in itself if you check it in the editor.

If I had to estimate the size of the map, I'd say it's medium, and varies. There are lots of tight corridors, a bit more open water tunnels, then there are openings with rocket launchers and stuff to devastate people who are stuck below (the risk of using portals is usually that people who are above on a ramp or such can fire rockets at you), and even large chambers with grenade launchers and vehicles for more open-ended gameplay. All that adds a lot of variety to the level, which you couldn't expect from the first sight.

The map's also got turrets and secrets; the turrets will guard some of the corridors, but you will be able to take them out very easily if you have a klodovik handy (speaking of those, Zappaguns and Klodoviks are much more viable and present on this map). There's also one central puzzle secret in the level, which I won't spoil here. And some other secrets.

Anyway, if you'd like to give it a shot, you can find it on the "addons" section of this site, or here:

Files.gamefront.com

It will also be added in the 0.9 update, but that won't come out for some time. Enjoy the map! :)
