Yah rain is cool and not hard to do.
I tried dynamic rain, meaning rain will change randomly its intensity through the mission, but I get fx limit reached warnings lol.

I get it too. Fixed it changing values (they are responsible for the height and width over the player).
Example: playfx ( level._effect["rain"], player.origin + (0,0,300), player.origin + (0,0,350) 300 meters X 350 meters.
Without errors, but the rain spawns even if player is underground.
I changed it to:
playfx ( level._effect["rain"], player.origin + (0,0,600), player.origin + (0,0,600) ) so now rain spawns higher and you can't see it underground.
