Using George Gilbert's Original Dungeon Master Conversion: Return to Chaos and Data extracted from Original Dungeon Master 2, I have created a my own reimagination of the Dungeon Master 2: The Legend of Skullkeep, which is longer, more challenging and introduces many new skills, abilities and concepts. Certain mechanics from DM2 are not available for RTC engine and the graphics are low-res, but I believe I have managed to expand on the most rewarding concepts of both classic FTL games.

Description

This is a final fully functional release. No patches required at the moment.

Known issues (unremovable due to engine restrictions):
- Saves sometimes get corrupt inexplicably. Save often and have multiple saves.
- Actual music track does not stop playing after all party member die (game over) and continues to play even after reload over the track saved. If you save again, both tracks will continue to play one over another. To avoid this, better quit a game after game over and restart, or let the track finish before you save the game again with two tracks playing simultaneously.

Thank you Sir for making this game. It is how Dungeon Master II should have been. I am actual in Skullkeep and I am running out of time.
It is possible to have a Version where you have more time for beating the game?
The puzzles are awesome, the build of the Dungeons is amazing. The toughness of the fights made me Restart the game one time, because my Party was starving to death in the second City.
Now I am in Skullkeep and trying to solve the puzzles, but I have only 4 Hours left to Play.
And I have tons of Questions.
Thank you

Hello adventurer,
First of all, sorry for your late reply, I am pleasantly surprised to learn that someone is still downloading and playing this mod.
Thank you for your compliments - making a version of DM II, a game I love very much, as it "should have been" is exactly the goal I hoped to achieve.
I thought I set the time limit quite generously (four times my normal playthrough with all the sidequests), but my perception of the difficulty of the game is probably inaccurate.
If you have just entered the Skullkeep, you are probably just in 2/3 of the game and the puzzles that await you are a challenge! The game is definitely doable in that time, though, if you know exactly what to do.
I can upload a version with bigger time limit (or none time limit at all, perhaps), but you would have to restart the game from the top (but perhaps not, sometimes with only minor changes the old saves still work).
If you have difficulties completing the game in time, perhaps try loading an older save. Going from there should be faster, once you have solved the puzzles in the first place. I hope this does not ruin your gaming experience.
I will gladly answer your all your questions, but let us use the ModDB inbuilt mail service for that. This way I do get notice of your message as well and can respond in time.

Time limit for completion raised from 30 to 50 hours.

Why time limit anyway? I like to train my party and just visit everything. I know the limit will be enough to complete the game, but seriously, why? :(

Well, I originally added it to have a new aspect of the game to consider, but I see it is not very popular. Per popular request, I will now upload a new version without a time limit :)

EDIT: Uploaded the new file without time limit in this thread with some additional tweaks and updates.

Thanks for reviving DM2, really like your work so far!
How does the freezer charge work? Is it possible to use it and switch to a new character if I already have 4 party members?

Sorry for the late reply. Some OS may not support the RTC engine, there is nothing I can do about that unfortunately :(

Hello. In past i owned an original game of this with it box bought for like 500 Slovak crowns or so in real shop.
Later i played it via dosbox from a site where old games are tottaly free for download and playing.
Now to my issues with your version.
Using my Lenovo Legion Laptop with windows 11 Ryzen 7 CPU, 32GB ram and RTX 3070 8GB GPU,

I started with a grey man conversation after going trough blue flashy hall i picked normal dificulty and started in fiorst town.
Here no shopkeeper selling me good they acting like they have no items for sale.
I cant venture anywhere because way with Skullkeep is obviously closed and all doors in town needs a key only available area is with Wolves.
Since Tornham starting character dont own any weapon and i found no weapon for use i cant fight those wolves and can only die.
Any solution or what i am doing wrong???
My character is almost starwing andthere is no food to buy or gather.
No weapon in sight and unarmed combat like in good old Dungeon master II is impossible.

Please help.
Thank you.
Dusan from Slovakia.
