Renegade X is a mod dedicated to recreating C&C Renegade in the new generation engine, the Unreal Engine 3. We all believe the Command and Conquer series is a very special one, and its fans have been following its games for over a decade now. C&C has been one of the most successful videogame series in the RTS Genre. Our modding team believes that C&C Renegade is truly a hidden gem in the FPS genre. C&C Renegade's specialty was its multiplayer mode, because it was not mindless killing like most games. A player was thrown into a battle as soon as he joined a server, in which teamplay was the only way to win. The game revolves around a war between the Global Defense Initiative, and the Brotherhood of Nod. Each faction would have their own base of operations consisting of buildings. A team had to work together to destroy the enemy base, while keeping theirs intact. Obelisk/Advanced Guard Tower (Base defenses) Without these, your team has no automatic defense. Hand of Nod/ Barracks...

it sounds kinda like its shooting and impacting flesh at the same time anyway nice mod i was a huge cnc fan its great to see this mod

And yeah, I can't say I care for the auto rifle sound either.
Stay fairly close to the original sounds if you can. Fricken love the boink sound to clarify a kill. Brings back some of the best memories gaming history.
Like when an enemy trips on a mine, suddenly there's a -boink- :P
Hell yeah. Running guys over to hear it was satisfying too XD. It's the most random noise ever to be put into a game to tell you when you've defeated an opponent, and somehow, it gives you that adrenaline rush to keep on peddling and mowing down all that stands in your way!

I agree with the others about the auto rifle sounds. It sounds like a BB gun I own. Everything else is kickass though.

left side in third person, right side in third person and then first person.
This is Renegade X, we're not going to use 7 year old low-quality sounds when we've already made much better ones. The autorifle is a new sound and it may not be the final one, but I'm not going to pull away all the hard work from the sound artists and replace it with the really old Renegade sounds. New engine demands new standards in graphics and audio. If you don't want any changes in your Renegade, then don't play this mod.
We don't want "The originals", but the renegade veterans would like to see some similarities to bring back the memories that were once held (Maybe some still are) playing this game for days on end back in the day. It's hard to call it a "remake" if nothing but the concept are the same.
I still have to agree that it sounds more like a BB gun in fast motion then an automatic rifle. Criticism will only help you improve so why ignore it? We're not trying to show disrespect to the sound artists at all.

those are the default UT3 animations :/ so thats how we would walk if we all took major doses of roids

Looks amazing... looking forward to this. One thing I've always noticed about the Unreal 3 Engine is that its explosion effects from like the rocket launcher are pretty bland, it's just like a small fireball which was the one thing that always confused me since the engine is so amazing.
I think it's pretty cool that this game is actually posted on the Command and Conquer website. Very well done.
