The scourge of Chaos arrived on a new world: Ziongane. This world was very close to the planet Ultramar, home of the great Space Marines chapter, the Ultramarines. The Imperial garrison on Ziongane, the 51st Battalion, were no match for the daemonic forces, and thus evacuated the planet before the Ultramarines arrived. Viewing the situation from their Battle Barge called The Impetus, Admiral Jaenus, along with Inquisitor Vanri, decided that there was only one way to cleanse the world of this taint, and thus the world was decimated in atomic fire. Deep in the Daedalus System, a home for the Zionganeans was found. The planet, Tirea IV. They moved there post-haste, with Admiral Jaenus in lead of the escort. However, this system is far from peaceful, and the new Tirean populus began creating the Emperor's war-machines again. At the same time, Admiral Jaenus received a distress signal from the Imperial Lunar-Class Cruiser, the Argus. It is the 41st Millenium, and there is only WAR.
Gave the space marine a good working over, made his armor a lot more broader and added some chest detail.
A definetly, great model! but helmet is quite different from original.
Thats a good improvement ! Nice model, i like MK VI breastplate (is that righ name ?) combined with element's with other marks of power armour.
Are you going to create variants in the future ?
But this question is more important, are you going to create jump packs ?
Nice to see good progress with modeling, i hope to see some coding in action, in the future.
Um, helmet seems good, it might be bit smaller than in previous one, but it's in line with majority of concept arts that shows marines.
Variants have already been made in terms of helmets and chestplates mostly, this is just one example for the variants.
Jump packs should also feature.
Correction, Jump Packs WILL also feature, with full usage as a means of close combat transportation. Also, rules will be implemented from the original 40k Rulebook stating that it is possible to be harmed by landing in difficult terrain (IE, trees, ruined buildings, etc).
That it very good news Inquisitor ! It's nice to see that you stick close to the fluff.
How will vehicles feature in this mod ? It will be possible to load 10 marines to rhino/land rider, and charge from it, or not ?
Also, most of the models are from IG and SM forces. I bet only those two forces will be in the beta, i'm right or wrong ?
That will most likely be the case.
I forgot to mention about the vehicles, we are not entirely sure how to go about with vehicles at the moment, although it is very much in discussion.
....I can has baneblade?!?
Heh.
I hope Baneblade is out of scope. Scale of it strike me as too large.
I hope there will be less maps and more models. Betatesting it could be nightmare (well, as betatesting any other game).
Hmm, as i see it, there is disparity in terms of power if we look at marine and guardsman. This could lead to:
-more vehicles avilable to ig
-bots for ig (say every player is ig sarge with 4 meatshields)
-uneven teams (forced 1 vs 3 player split)
-more powerful weapons for ig (i hope it would not be the case, and there would be 'joe average' guardsman willing to die for the emperor - at least not the only choice)
-other solution
Hmm, I won't tell what our plan is currently for fear of getting a beasting from the inquisitor, but let me reasure you that all of this is being taken into consideration.
All of these options for balancing and more are being considered. It is quite possible that we will decide on a mix of these things. One thing I can promise you for sure is that the IG will have access to a far greater arsenal of tanks and other such machines.
As for Baneblades, lets just say Epic sized maps are in discussion as a possible idea as well in the full release, which may include such mechanicae as Valkyries, and superheavy vehicles. However, please do not get your hopes too high on it as much as your faith in the Emperor as there is no promise it will be added yet.
How about the player being able to disable a vehicle by performing certain 'on vehicle' actions such as blowing wheels, cutting power lines, etc. Take the flying saucer hijack in Dark void as an example. =D
sweet
Hmm, any views of the back or sides?
I will do so momentarily.
u ever consider using diff helmets ?
Of course, this is not the only Space Marine you will see.
When purchased, your Space Marine model will consist of a random preset: one of about 8. These different presets will consist of different head and torso sets.
There will be a texture for each of these 8 presets, and then one for each chapter/legion. All in all, there is likely to be about 40 different textures for Imperial Space Marines alone, because of these random presets.
So we get to customize our marines? kewl.
nice i hope you use some of the pre heresy helms to they are sick looking ex. the cover of decent of angles now that is a bad *** helm
