This Patch/Addon fixes a lot of bugs and typos, improves game mechanics, increases realism, rebalances all weapons and adds 47 new weapons and 3 new ammo types. Ammunition has been completely reworked so that Damage, Effective Range, Armor Penetration, Weight and Pricing reflect real life. All guns are more realistic and perfectly balanced. The ACTUAL ACCURACY of each gun has been added to the weapon description, among other useful info (weapon class, restrictions). The guard mode works more reliably, the accuracy penalty for standing/crouching stance has been reworked and mercs can get more levelups before they reach the levelcap. Traders have much more items for sale (weapons, pants, boots). Many errors have been corrected (eg Ak47 is using 7.62mm instead of 5.45mm).
Very polished mod, it does exactly what it advertises. The changes to the mercs, weapons and ammo are well thought out and balanced.
It doesn't radically overhaul the game as some other mods, but it's bug free and changes the gameplay just enough to make a new playthrough for an experienced jabia player interesting again.
Simply due to tweaks to the weapons and ammo, or in some cases just because it shows you information ingame you didn't know before without digging into the game files, make an interesting change to the weapon progression and to what weapons you prefer. Infact you might be harder pressed know to easily find the "best" weapon, since balance is so much better now.
The Merc changes are good, it's nice that they start at lower levels (stats have been sensibly reduced to account for that), allowing you to gain more levels with them and customize them more. Some simple tweaks to a few mercs might make you reconsider who to use now as your goto guys.
Spider for example was hard to use because of Morale issues previously, now she is my go-to gal. Ira is also vastly more useful now.
If you want a jabia mod that doesn't radically mixup the game, but makes some interesting and balanced changes without causing any bugs (in fact fixes some vanilla ones), you can't really go wrong with this well polished mod.
You *could* play JA:BiA without the RR mod, but you will not have nearly as much fun as you will with this mod installed.

If this mod hadn't existed, I wouldn't have been playing JA:BiA until now. Big thanks to the author of the mod!!! It's also still being updated, unlike a lot of other mods for those type of games. (the ones that a lot of people had already forgotten about).

very nice mod, makes game more enjoyable. Be nice to tone down enemy a bit or give option. Steam achievements dont work with mod, but what do you want, enemy dressed in bikini top rushing you, hillbillies or a better lookin and more playable game or a few badges?
Nice too that to uninstall you dont have to reinstall game.

This is a great improvement over vanilla.
It makes the game a lot more playable & enjoyable.
Mechanics that were broken in vanilla now work.
Weapons & stat rebalancing feels to work good.
The only criticism I would make is that I feel the AI is overly good at spotting & hitting when you are in cover.
They on the other hand stand or crouch in the open & still manage to kill you in cover, even when you get the drop on them.
I feel the AI accuracy needs toning down some.
