This was done to help the game be more graphically pushed to the limit competitive with its other id tech 4 siblings. Prey 2006 being in a league its own because it supports a more modern compression technology that also actually allows higher resolution. Several of the faces were very poor after being upscaled and the game required some degree of human intervention beyond the AI.

The secret handshake to Polymaths is their rate of boredom due to a usually if not always cooccurring visual cortex metabolism (serotonin heavier) affinity. The reality is Boss, some people are just better than you at certain tasks. Get over it. Some folk have to be pushed by external forces more than internal. Dont get mad at evolution when you can promote the next level using CRISPR. Its definitely the future whether you like it or not. In the end it doesnt even matter. Computers already vastly outrun human intelligence in rapidly shrinking ways. Its no big deal. Everyone running around out there toying with our airspace and sonar detection mechanisms is just a friendly side effect. I dont think Skynet in the hypothetical future version would be successful in termination of humanity because its already obsolete on arrival.
