PoC Map Pack mod for SOMA

This is the ModDB release of the first four maps of my Proof-of-Concept Soma mod series. Each mod is designed to showcase one aspect and one aspect only, for the purposes of distilling how that particular thing is done within the Soma engine.

• Airlock
  • There are numerous places in Soma in which the player transitions from the underwater environment to the installation environment. This is done via special rooms called airlocks, which either fill the room with water or pump it out. In this map, you have a lever, which will make the airlock fill with water or drain it out.
• Elevator
  • Sometimes you want to have the player traverse your level vertically by way of a moving platform. There are several ways to accomplish this, but this map's approach is the simplest - to affix the player in position while the elevator moves them up or down to their destination.
• Level-Streaming
  • One of the big technical capabilities that Soma boasts is level streaming, in which levels can be seamlessly arranged so that the player will experience little to no loading times. This map seeks to distill that to its essence. (Warning: Level streaming is intended for bigger maps, so the small maps in this package may not stream properly. You may experience slight hanging of the game, or opening of a level-transition door and momentarily be greeted with black nothingness.)
• Scavenger Hunt
  • People who have played Soma are quite familiar with the Omnitool, but what modders may not know is that the Omnitool's display can be changed to fit your needs. Thsi map does just that, turning your Omnitool into a handy tracking device as you scour this map's several settings searching for particular items.
