Merge of ZRP and OWR 3 with the increased weapon damage addon, along with a few of my own tweaks in an attempt to create a good, moderately accessible first time play through experience for newcomers to the series that want to get prepped up for STALKER 2
- Install ------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Install Shadow of Chernobyl with GOG (probably works with steam version but I've only tested with GOG)
2. Download and Extract this file with 7zip
3. Copy the gamedata folder to your stalker directory (...\GOG Galaxy\Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl)
4. Open fsgame.ltx from the directory in step 3 in your text editor of choice.
5. Change line 2 -
"$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\" so that it reads
"$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\" (just change the false in this line to true.)
6. Launch Shadow of Chernobyl (I typically do so through gog galaxy)

Changes I've made -
1. I made it so weapons that can accept a suppressor or scope will allow you to equip it to that weapon, this makes some of the special variants a bit superfluous but I prefer the flexibility of being able to install the attachments I want
2. Marked One takes a bit less damage, I found the double damage was pretty over tuned and basically made it so if the player gets hit they die most of the time and it also felt like armor no longer mattered. so I believe Marked One takes 75% of damage he normally would. The game is still plenty challenging but this improved the game flow quite a bit without purely having to rely on excessive quicksaving
3. Marked ones accuracy has been increased, I hated rounds not going where I want them to so I fixed it.
4. A bunch of general tweaks that just function as quality of life improvements, slightly higher jump, climbing coefficient increase (makes navigating terrain easier), slightly higher carry weight, slightly faster stamina regen when sitting still, probably more that I am forgetting but nothing that should really hurt a first time playthrough.
My goal with this was to compile an ideal and easy to install modpack to share this series with my friends and others that want to try the series but find vanilla SOCs weapon handling off-putting and don't want to have to sift through tons of mods to get an accessible Vanilla+ experience for a first time play through.
Changelog for a patch I made on 1/31/2023 - reduced ammo drop buff and sprint speed buff I made in original config
It would be nice if someone ported OWR3 over to Clear Sky.
Do you dislike the extra weapons added in STCS? I would recommend checking that out if you want a weapon mod
funnily enough, my friend, they have! they've also ported T.H.A.P. and the SRAP to clear sky!

you can use ABR CS mod for enhanced clear sky experience
really like the animations (switching from walking to sprinting does not make the weapon flick instantly which always looked so goofy)
would it be possible to have a slight weapon sway while walking so it does not look so static or is that an engine limitation?
To be honest I'm not entirely sure. Though I will say, I've only really seen mods with heavy engine modification affect the weapon view models that dramatically. So I'm willing to bet that it IS in fact an engine limitation. If you want the ideal STALKER experience gunplay wise I don't think it gets better than gunslinger for CoP.
Theres a port of Gunslinger to Soc that is in its final stages of development, i feel like playing vanilla plus that mod will be the definitive way to play Soc
The problem with ports like that is when they come out they're usually restricted to russian websites. Honestly there's a whole slew of russian mods that the english speaking playerbase is missing out on. Hope it gets a good translation when it's out.

i ecountered a bug:the double barrel shotgun(the one from the begining of the game that rookies carry)always do the one shell reload when empty
Is this compatible with Starter Pack? As far as I know, SP is a combination of various mods, but I don't know if this mod can work with it.
does it include ZRP addons such as the sleeping bag and certain traders being able to fix your gear?

i cant open soc i did everything right i put the files in the main directory but soon as i open soc it takes me to main menu but as soon as i try to load or make a new game my game screen goes black and i get kicked out please help
high time for a hardcore recoil version of this. horizontal recoil is punishing as $%@!%
