Stukov of City 17, has just completed his interview with Argyll, the team leader and founder of the MOD Operation: CO-IN. Here's a snippet:
Stukov: While we’re on that subject, how will damage be handled? Will it be realistic (i.e. 1 hit usually kills)? Or if not, will getting shot affect your performance?
Argyll: Your health will go down by where you are hit and by what is damaging you. A 9mm round does not have the same affect like a 7.62mm round would, so we will attempt to make it as close as possible to simulate what that certain caliber would do. Usually the only case that a one shot kill would occur is in the head (obviously) when a player would not be wearing a helmet. If they are wearing a helmet, again, the caliber of the round would determine a kill or not. Getting shot will affect your performance. If you are shot in the leg with a 7.62mm round, chances are you would have a hard time walking. We would like to simulate that as well. Also, being shot will affect your accuracy and stamina.
