Moguri Mod is a total revamp of the PC version of Final Fantasy IX helped by deep learning techniques (ESRGAN). The most important changes are in the background arts, that are now cleaner, more detailed and higher resolution. Moguri Mod also includes a custom implementation of Memoria Mod, offering more options over the original game.

Wow, really really really appreciate you doing this for the community!

Hey, where can you report possible bugs/crashes? I had a crash right after the Tetra Card Tutorial. As soon as it ended, CTD. Don't know if thats the mod or the game, but thought I'd make you aware. Looks so freaking good!

You can reinstall with differents options.

The installer is broken. Doesn't matter what you uncheck, it all gets installed.

Also, if you cancel it before it finishes, then go to install it again, it never asks you for an install path again. I canceled it because I realized I wanted it on another drive and it never asked me a second time where to put it.

Aside from the installer issues, the game looks fantastic. Great job :)

It works like any installer in the world : if something is installed, you can modify the installation, but for moving it, you have to uninstall first. That's how windows works.

How do I install this thing? Just unzip the main download and run the .exe? Leave the 7z files alone?

You have to extract all the files and run the .exe.

I'm having problems extracting the files, I get the error "0 can not open output file <path to .exe file>". The other files extract just fine. I'm using Windows 10 Home Edition and extracting using 7-Zip and I also tried with WinRar. Is there any issue with file permissions or something like that or is this just a weird thing just happening to me? Thanks in advance, huge kudos for the great job!

Okay it seems it was my antivirus (360 Total Security) deleting it as soon as it was extracted without notifying me, let it be known for anyone in the situation to check their antivirus

I can see new version has been uploaded today. But i cant find a changelog. Should i download and install on top? What changes have been made?

It's a very minor fix of the installer that mostly makes the download less heavy and fixes a re-install problem. It doesn't change the game.

I received this error when installing

Patching F:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY IX\x64\FF9_Data\resources.assets
Unexpected error has occurred.
---------------------------
System.Exception: bad checksum
at Fossil.Delta.Apply(Byte[] origin, Byte[] delta)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.PatchFile(GZipStream input, Int64 uncompressedSize, DateTime writeTimeUtc, ConsoleProgressHandler progressHandler, String[] outputPaths)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.ExtractFiles(GameLocationInfo gameLocation, GZipStream input, BinaryReader br, Int64& leftSize, ConsoleProgressHandler progressHandler)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.Run(String[] args)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.Main(String[] args)
---------------------------

Game won't start now just sitting on the FF9 logo on black screen.

I had previously installed v8 Beta 3 and just installed overtop is there something I need to do?

Edit: Uninstalled - Verified files in steam it redownloaded 17 files, I then ran the installer again (using elevated permissions) and got the same error. but now able to launch - Seems to work for most part. Music is orchestral, widescreen is working - but text is not replaced.

Sadly, installing over a modded game (and the beta is considered as a modded game) is not supported.

Veryfying the game folder have some effect, but you probably have some leftover inside.
I cannot provide additional support as you modified your original steam folder, it's up to you to revert it. Deleting the FFIX folder entirely should fix it, but I won't be responsible for any harm you do on your computer :)

Yes (but maybe the PSX font won't work with non-latin characters)

I am having an issue with the installer. When I run the MoguriMod.exe it gets stuck in a never ending loop "extracting files". Any one have a solution to this?

My game is crashing (completely closing) in the very beginning after the blue dragon guy walks into the room. Just before the battle starts. I posted on the steam discussion page, but only got one reply and their suggestion didn't work. Here is a link to my memoria.log pastebin.com/HMDyAdXp

So here's a weird update: I uninstalled the mod, uninstalled the game, and deleted the folder. I reinstalled the game and made no modifications. When I started a new game as usual, it crashed at the same time, right before the first battle starts. Now I'm even more confused.

I found a fix. I replaced the contents of the x64 folder with the contents of the x86 folder. Unfortunately this means I can't use moguri mod, since the mod patches the x64 folder. So I'll just be playing the vanilla game since it crashes upon entering battles without that folder swap.

I've tried re-downloading/re-installing 3 times after uninstalling both FF9 & Moguri mod and deleting all of their folders. Every time, I get this same error:

Patching C:\Games\FINAL FANTASY IX\x64\FF9_Data\resources.assets
Unexpected error has occurred.
---------------------------
System.Exception: copy extends past end of input
at Fossil.Delta.Apply(Byte[] origin, Byte[] delta)

at Memoria.Patcher.Program.ExtractFiles(GameLocationInfo gameLocation, GZipStream input, BinaryReader br, Int64& leftSize, ConsoleProgressHandler progressHandler)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.Run(String[] args)
at Memoria.Patcher.Program.Main(String[] args)
---------------------------
Press enter to exit...

EDIT: The Beta v5 works fine for me, the problem is with this installation setup. Is there a manual install option like the Beta v5?

Deleted any trace of FF9 from my Steam folder, but I'm getting this error as others have. Posting my own instance so it's not overlooked.
