Military Forces Quake 3 (MFQ3) is the continuation of the line of AirQuake mods. Many of the team come from working on AirQuake2, and many have made add-ons to the legendary AirQuake. In MFQ3, the player can choose to fly planes of all sizes, drive tanks or even captain boats, fighting in a variety of locations. MFQ3 aims to balance the realism of 'serious' flight sims with arcade fun to mix an infectious gameplay cocktail. MFQ3 currently has a public alpha available for download, and we are nearing the completion of the next public release. A few highlights for the next release: - All new HUD system that looks something like TheRealThing (tm). - Tons of new vehicles: planes, tanks and boats! - Shadows cast by aeroplanes: easier landings at last. - All new Team Arena-based UI system. - Basic features of our IGME working. - Kickass maps. - Sweet guided missles! No more cannon-spamming. - Animated gear dropping/retraction.

Hi guys, this is a combo-post from Angel's 2 news posts over at our website. Enjoy.

When the earlier mentioned pilot and RIO passed into Irani airspace a couple of F-5 Tiger IIs were waiting to escort them back to base.

We are also moving the F-5 over to the bad guys for now, to balance the F-5 vs. A-10. Both are very slow, and one fires extremely fast, the other fires 30mm explosive shells. We could use a Su-25 model as a ground attack for the bad guys, but that hasn't been modelled yet (hint hint).

Other news: Cannon has finished another map. It has been named Fields and is a map with many narrow valleys, perfect for slow movers like the A-10. He has narrated a small story of a battle. Check it out in the forum here.

And now for the next post from Angel:

I'm finally somewhat pleased with the A-10 skin. I've definately put too much energy into this one, compared to the result. But now I finally have a model viewer that I can work with.

Our new coders are getting on well with the code. I just have problem building QVMs: it won't find the tools for some reason. Still we're working on getting the last few bugs out, cleaning up the vehicle database and getting ready to release.

Till next time...
