A mod adding numerous features from the MMOFPS Planetside 2 by Daybreak Game Company
What I've got so far for the NC composite armour. Still need to do a little poly work to remove some clipping, raise the shoulder pads up and bring the chest-plate closer to his torso but this should show what new pieces of armour are attached to the skin.
Great work so far!
The new armour has excellent coverage on the front - particularly on the thigh area.
The shoulder armour looks like it also could be drawn in closer to the body.
Will we ever see any of the grenade/ammo bandoliers that are talked about in the equipment section of the Planetside 2 wikia?
Thanks for showing your progress.
Thank you.
I am going to move bits of armour around and maybe add something to the back before moving onto the next skin, just to get things a bit more in-line.
I'm still not sure about adding bandoliers. In Planetside 2 they aren't actual modeled items that are added to your character, just more like a passive bonus so there aren't any models for them, I would have to craft the item myself out of pieces from other bits of equipment.
It would be great if you could craft something that resembles a bandolier. Apart from adding to the asthetics of a combat soldier carrying all his tools of trade, It would also help to remove some of the "too clean" lines of the models.
Love the equipment pouch on the back. A couple more smaller ones would also add some extra visuals.
That could be something that is added later on as it wouldnt be a big part in gameplay
I could possibly add them as equippable torso armour so that I don't have to mess around grafting it to the skins. The issue with this is that it would mean a unit can't equip a backpack at the same time + it might not fit well on all the different faction skins.
If you can do it, equippable torso armour would be fine. It would provide extra variations, for those wanting to mix and match their own choice of equipment. Not all soldiers carry exactly the same combination of gear. It could be the equipment for a sub-machinegunner, with no backpack - an infiltrator - or a special commando trooper (grenadier). It simply provides extra choices for the player who wants to "roll his own".
As usual, you are doing the hard work, so it is your choice.
