MapMixer is designed to give you more control over the way you launch and manage your game session in Unreal Tournament 3. It replaces the the game's Main Menu and let's you launch either a quick-offline match or a complete session where every map is specifically customised - or randomised. It's a whole new way to manage your UT3 experience.

Game Rule Lists

When launching your game from the Advanced Session Menu, it is vitally important that MapMixer has a base set of rules to use for each gametype, considering that every map in a session can be of a different gametype. This is what a Game Rules List is for. Each Rules List is comprised of default rule settings for each Gametype installed, so when a different Gametype is selected during the Session Map List, it has some basic rules to draw from.

One difference here is that MapMixer does not specifically use UT3's list of available Game Rules for each gametype - it uses its own set of individual options per Gametype to maximise flexibility. These options are stored in an 'ini' file and you can add your own very easily.

Numerical and boolean values can have random values as well. With numerical values, you can choose two different values to indicate a minimum and maximum value, where any number in between and inclusive is chosen. Boolean values are given a percentage chance value that they will be enabled.

You can also override Player Caps and Bot Skill for each Gametype in a Rules List. (Player caps are limits placed on Player Counts. The Player Caps in the Setup page take highest priority.)
