NOTE: I do not own or create anything in this mod. All credits go to Poharex and many other talented modders that made this a possibility.

Mandibles is a Carnivores 2 total conversion mod by Poharex, set in the Eos sector of planet FMM-UV 32 where you hunt giant arthropods. However, the mod has been left defunct along with Carnivores+ and Carnivores: Triassic as he left the carnivores community due to personal reasons.

This is the first mod project I've made. The aim of this mod is to port it to the Modder's Edition Engine and fully utilize its many capabilities to improve its gameplay. This includes stat changes, dlc animals, and many more to add/change.

This is the first mod I've made, but keep in mind that I do not own anything in this mod and that I've only edited the _RES and _MENU files for it to...

Nice to see this mod being redone, I love this mod and it's concept (hunting giant overgrown bugs just sounds fun and interesting to me)...but it's story isn't exactly the best and honestly doesn't do the Inutilis justice IMO, especially compared to the previous mod it takes place after (Carnivores Triassic).

Wish you luck with this new version of the mod!

I'm guessing you are going to make a MEE for carnivores Triassic.

I might plan to do a Carnivores Triassic MEE. But I think I'll start developing that mod once I finish this mod.

Hey, I don't know if you figured it out already but if you want a classic brachiosaurus ai creature (in this case Bernicia), all you really need to do is change the clone number from -5 to -1. Boom. Won't run away and won't attack. To truly make it a classic brachi, change the health to 1024. You could remove the fearCall = 18 so that it won't run away from rex calls. To make it not dangerous to the hunter, change the values for aggression & kill distance to 0.

It won't be as easy as any of the others. One dinosaur stands in the way--Gojirasaurus

Hi CuriousCancer, or can i just call you CC? I haven't played the mod yet but I can already tell it looks good.

Being this is your first mod, I welcome you to the modding community.

I read the summary and it sounds just like how I felt when I did my first mod, Carnivores 2: The Canon Extended.

Question, did you take inspiration from me? It's an odd question, I know, but I feel I started this new trend.

Anyways, I was planning on doing an MEE version for Mandibles for quite some time but never got around to it. Seeing that you put the mod out first, I was wondering if I could help you with putting this mod together.

I don't know much about creating models or maps, but I have excelled my programming skills since I first started. I also know how to implement pics and skins.

Mandibles is one of my favorite mods when I first got into carnivores mods, in fact, it's one of the first mods I've played. I loved it's theme and I am a bug lover in general. But I saw its age and flaws when I played newer and better mods.

This mod was first inspired by Molten Barry's abandoned islands modders edition. But your T.C.E mods helped me inspire more in making one myself. I've had personalized m.e.e mods before where I used them to test my res programming skills.

At the moment, I only know how to program in the res text and change the file orders in the folders. Maybe you could help me on some things in my mod like modifying the menu pictures. Also, can you help me on the res stats of the classic brachiosaurus ai? I do not know how to implement them yet. And if you know how to add in animations, especially the swimming animations(even if they're just recycled running animations) it would help me a lot as I found out that the game crashes when an ai that has no swim anim goes underwater, because of that I had to set spino ai to not swim and tweak some of the cerato ai.

I am planning to release this mod either by February or March. But the first version will not feature all of the things you see in the preview images as this one is more based on the original.

I actually have my Mandibles MEE prototype with a functional Bernicia. I will admit that it's just the regular Brachi ai, but the important part is that it works. One problem I ran into was Inutilis, as apparently it never got a call icon and such. The first thought would be to just go in and make some new pics, but I think there's a better idea for the Inutilis.

You know how you lose like a 100 points for killing an Inutilis? Well, what's the point of even hunting it then? Its on the last ai slot, so that means it won't spawn randomly, which kind of defeats the purpose of losing points when killing one. All you have to do is just never select Inutilis and you'll be fine.

However, if we make it a map ambient... it would make things a lot more interesting. You would have to be tactical and cautious to avoid the map ambient Inutilis, as you will lose points for killing it. You can't ignore them now if they can spawn on any map anywhere. That was my thought for it, but if you'd prefer to keep it a regular huntable that's fine by me.

Is there a way I could contact you by some sort of messaging software so that we can exchange files or pics and what not?

That is my plan for the inutilis. I made the jaekelopterus as the final huntable instead as seen in the menu image above.

As for the file exchanging, maybe you can dm me through discord? If you want to contact me, my username on discord is CurCan #1169.
