So after about four years of inactivity, mostly because of College but also because I got stoked on AO3 and SC2, I've decided that Warcraft is still the best RTS game to go to for modding (I find SC2 to be a pain in the ass).
Being a tolkien fan, I'm still craving for an LOTR-based RTS in the mold of Warcraft (not fond of the style of EA's BFME, sadly) so I'll do everything I can to finish the project this time around or at least get a playable demo going.
