After the CSA won multiple important battles, the United Kingdom and France join in with the CSA against the union. In 1885 the war is over and the CSA is given independence, and is officially recognized as a country.
Now, in 1936 world tensions are rising and many are questioning whats next. Hitler is gaining power in europe, and Japan is gaining power in Asia. Tensions inbetween the CSA and the USA have reached an all time high, and some worry the CSA might be coming to its end, though the CSA is a industrial powerhouse, but stability is low. The USA never purchased Alaska as it was too poor to buy after the civil war, and never attacked Hawaii, so the United Kingdom colonized it.
The USA is now a fraction of what it used to be, if they want to become what they once were, there going to have to make some changes. Even if that means getting rid of democracy.
