Jurassic Rage is an episodic, team-based, dinosaur infested modification for Unreal Tournament 2004. We are undertaking the challenge to incorporate fun gameplay with a realistic world and an evolving storyline into one well-tested and balanced package released every 30 days. Every month a new version will be released, each one with as many new features as possible, exposing new story plots and allowing you to experience them ingame. Fun and gameplay are top priority in JR:Evolution, therefore if some element isn't fun enough, we'll keep working on it until it will be good enough. Your feedback is invaluable to us and we will consider any and all ideas you post. Jurassic Rage merges single-player and multiplayer. We have multiplayer gametypes that can be played like missions in a single player game, except that you can play them on any map that supports it, not just one.

I thought since our website has been down for so long and all our fans have been really patient during this whole ordeal I would post a render for everyone to drool over until the site's back up and running.

This is a high poly version of the Sig S3000 sniper rifle modeled by F-22 Raptor. It will be used to generate normal maps for our low poly in game model.

Work is still going strong behind the scenes, despite the loss of a dev forum. We've made progress on another version of our internal alpha and have done some online testing of it already.

Keep an eye on the website, it will be back up soon.

A single unskinned gun model for a build of the mod you plan on creating in the distant future?

Might want to hold off on releasing stuff like this until you have something concrete to show. In-game screens of your 2k4 build. skinned models (plural) etc.

Here's the deal for those unfamiliar with Jurassic Rage:

We are developing primerily for UT2004. Once our mod is finished for that engine, we shall be switching to UT3 (UT2007). The high polys models will be used then for normal mapping.

Not forgetting that we can still use high poly models in UT2004. The model can be used to 'bake' details onto the lower-polygon model's skin.

A similar process was used here on levels, the same principle can be used on all other models.

The team is familiar with the aspects and limitations of both engines thouroughly.

For now, enjoy the eye-candy.

Guess they are talking about baking the lightning to texture from the highpoly and using that as a diffuse/spec on the lowpoly.
Wich is fine, especially if normalmaps are planned later. This way the high poly can be used now and later for the normalmap.

Just to clear it up for you, this model will not be in game. It will be used to generate normal maps for a lower poly model; THAT will be in game. It's not a very difficult process, and the technology has been around for a while to do it. If you google normal maps, you'll more then likely find a nice tutorial on how it is accomplished. But the results are fantastic!

**UPDATE ON THE SITE**

For some reason our domain name went into a 30 day lock so that no one can touch it. However, we are getting close to the end of the 30 day lock so it shouldn't be too much longer.

people, you got pwn3d there. i hope you put in here the wrong game as like mentioned above, ut2k4 is textures only, no normal maps or other fancy things ( except a bit of env-specular, but that's it ).
