A new film canon mod (FCM) using the latest advancements in JPOG modding to bring you the best possible JP experience in JPOG. A spiritual successor to JPL's FCMs and a reboot of the FCM:HD this mod looks to make JPOG more true to the original trilogy. New models, edited animations, new sounds, new skins and even custom ENB settings to ehance certain weathers can all be expected.

Mamenchisaurus and Compsognathus added to the mod; work on TLW dinosaurs has begun.

Posted by on

Hello all, today I have a very special treat; with the completion of the galli model the JP dinosaurs are now completed. Barring any remakes (which I'll discuss later on) those are the final models for those dinosaurs. Moving ahead now the dinosaurs from TLW will made starting with the two species not represented in JPOG, the compy and the mamenchisaurus.

Mamenchisaurus

Mamenchisaurus

This behemoth is over 100 feet long and stands at 54 feet tall at the top of the head making it the largest dinosaurs in the mod. Conversely, we also have the smallest dinosaur in the mod, the compsognathus.

compy

This little guy is only 2 feet tall and 5 feet long making it the smallest dinosaur in the mod. Both of these dinosaurs will use skeletons of dinosaurs already in JPOG (camara and galli respectively), but their animations will be edited to better fit the dinosaurs.

The models were made by me which transitions well into the next topic, how models will be made moving forward. For the JP dinosaurs (excluding the galli) the models were made by modifying the existing models. While this method is generally faster than making the models by hand it can lead to sloppy UV maps and some models can be difficult to edit (due to how Bluetongue's actually modeled the dinosaurs). There are also some weight paint issues where some models can scrunch up or stretch out weird ways during certain points in a given animation (for example, the brachios tail crumples up when it stands on its back legs). I'm still debating on whether or not to go back and redo those models by hand. Right now I'm weighing my options. I should have some more updates coming soon though.

Does the mamenchisaurus take the camarasaurus or the brachiosaurus as the base model?
