The next demo is going to be released shortly and on a holiday that IS not Christmas. It's going to focus on the EMPIRE (play star wars music now) and it's going to be awesome. The code has been refined since last time and things work alot more smoothly now. I've been hard at work on this the past couple days, and I would show you some of the work, but you can't hear audio, now can you?

The next demo is going to be released shortly and on a holiday that IS not Christmas. It's going to focus on the EMPIRE (play star wars music now) and it's going to be awesome. The code has been refined since last time and things work alot more smoothly now. In preperation for the demo, I think I'll give you guys a little tutorial on how to play the Empire, since they are kinda a unique faction in terms of how they play compared to the others. Now, you start a match just like any other side, you get a handful of infantry, but no MCV (Dozer). Instead, you must select your conyard and build 'Nanocores'. These guys are like mini MCV's from the original games that deploy into different buildings. They build quickly but you must move to them to where you want them to deploy, and deploying takes time.

The empire gives you a very flexable build tecnique that lets you quickly sprawl a base across the map. The problem is you must protect your nanocores as they are relativly weak and defensless. To deploy your nanocore, select it, and hit the button for deploy. You then target where you want the nanocore to deploy, and it will go over to that spot and deploy there. *One bug that is in is that miners will not intially return to the refinery until ordered to do so. After this initial order, miners work as normal*. So be sure you pay attention to the refineries, this bug is being worked on and a potential solution might be implemented by the release of the demo. Your defensive structures are also deploy from nanocores, so you can send a few cores with your attack forces if you wish to establish a protected area for staging attacks. One of your defensive structures, the defender core, has the ability to switch between AA missiles and an anti infantry machine gun. Make sure you have your turrets set to the proper mode to best take on attacks.

The empire's army is perhaps the most mobile in the game. Most of the units are amphibious, and a handful can even switch between land and flying versions. You must use this to your advantage by staging attackings from as many different terrain types as possible because as empire the sea is yours, and the air is too if you are strong enough to take it. The empire's and forces are nothing to laugh at though, the King Oni is a powerful meath sheild and the Waveforce artillery will make short work of anything thats foolish enough to be within it's range. But remember, the empire's true strength lies in it's ability to stage amphibious assualts and it's transforming units.

Well, I hope that enlightened you to the way of the warrior, stay tuned for more information and the upcoming demo!
