Alex awakens shivering in her half destroyed apartment that is sinking into thick snow. The entire right wall is torn apart, letting an unsettling blizzard blow snow straight into her room. Completely in shock, she gets out of bed walks to the edge of her room. Destructed buildings and roads can be seen, surrounded by high mountaintops and trees. Is it a dream? No, she has lost herself on the road not taken – a parallel universe. The world strikes many resemblances to her origins, but yet it trails an
unsettling and strange aroma. It looks like home, but it feels nothing like it. Alex’s goal is to return to her world. However, things are never that simple.
It’s no coincidence that Alex shows up in this strange universe. She is brought here by groups
experimenting on opening windows to both worlds. These people are not the type to mess with. They’ve conducted horrifying tests that have caused deathly experimented on innocent people, and now they want Alex. She has to figure out why she specifically was brought there, journey out of the woods and escape back to her world.

don't give up on this :) UE3 is one of the best engines to mod for, shame there are so few singleplayer mods compared to e.g. HL2

Understandable. It's very early in development right now (actually just starting really), and I can tell you there certainly is a lot behind the curtain that I just can't reveal yet until I get more manpower on the mod.
