This project is the continuation of our work in Warband crusade MOD "In the Name of Jerusalem". We will continue to extend and improve the old settings. The new campaign map will expand to the Upper Danube, the Nile Delta, the Dinaric Alps, and Transcaucasia. The Bulgarian Empire and Grand Principality of Serbia will be added. Kingdom of Georgia, the Saltukids and the Artuqids (probably Eldiguzids) may comes later. The timeline still starts from 1187, but we will try to add more interesting historical events until 1204 - including the Fourth Crusade.
The (Second) Bulgarian Empire stemmed from a revolt started in Tărnovo which located at the boundary between the lowlands and the first slopes of the Balkan (Stara Planina) Mountains.
The rebellion was led by the Vlach landlord brothers Peter and Asen. The fact that the brothers' meeting with the Roman emperor in 1185 ended unsuccessful and insulted, and the emperor was "despoiling" the people, for he needed money to cover the expenses for the imperial wedding, caused the rebellion and the rise of the Vlach-Bulgarian State.
Following the rebels' attacks on Thrace, the Romans decided to take action to restore control over the passes across the Stara Planina. They obtained a decisive victory in one of the passes by means of a surprise attack at a time of eclipse.
With the victory secured in the mountain pass, the Roman soldiers retreated from the territory they had attacked.
Meanwhile, while some of the rebels gave up, others ran across the Danube to get help from the Cumans. They mustered many warriors on horseback with whom they now returned to Moesia, a region from which the Byzantine army had just withdrawn.
The army of Bulgarian Empire will consist of Vlachian woodsmen, Cuman horsemen, Bulgarian voin (warrior), druzhina (noble's fellow guard), soldiers once served in the former Komnenian army and so on.
Hi. If your team needs reference material for Bulgarian military/civilian apparel of the 12th/13th century, this is a good page on the topic: Badamba.info
Also I find your statement that the Asen brothers were Vlach to be inaccurate (and rather controversial, historiographically). The academic consensus is that they were of Cuman ancestry based on etymological grounds (with the Vlach theory being contentious and mostly relegated to Romanian historiography nowadays).
If your interested, here are a few more historical replicas which are displayed in the Varna Archeological Museum:

Thanks, we know this website very early! Unfortunately, however, many contents can only be applied to later ages such as the 13th and 14th centuries. I want to explain my statement. I don't mean that they are Vlach; I know that the academic community has debated this for many years. My words are repeating Niketas' statement. He called the Tsar brothers "Vlach landlords" because their territory is there, not that I think they are Vlach.
And this video was made last month. Several stuffs are now more improved than in this video :)
Is this going on Youtube too?
The thinnest infantry line i've ever seen haha great battle!
good combat values but player is bad at game lol
THis is amazing. At this point, you are making a 12th century warfre simulator. Wanna play with some of those slavic contingents so bad. GG and cheers to the team!
