This project is the continuation of our work in Warband crusade MOD "In the Name of Jerusalem". We will continue to extend and improve the old settings. The new campaign map will expand to the Upper Danube, the Nile Delta, the Dinaric Alps, and Transcaucasia. The Bulgarian Empire and Grand Principality of Serbia will be added. Kingdom of Georgia, the Saltukids and the Artuqids (probably Eldiguzids) may comes later. The timeline still starts from 1187, but we will try to add more interesting historical events until 1204 - including the Fourth Crusade.
I wish infantry combat would keep in formation instead of instantly turning into a chaotic melee.
I agree, it's hard to fight with your infantry when it turns into a huge mosh pit and you're unable to swing your weapon. Only thing you can do it to just go around the enemy. I hope the devs change something.
Then it will be very slow and you don't want to fight a battle in 10-20 minutes :)
What if I'm a nerd that wants that? :) Besides, even with formations knights should tear through normal infantry like hot knife through butter :)
I could give you a opnion to enable it if you really want and if everything goes well :)
I know I´ve seen a smaller mod change AI behaviour so battles are actually a bit less chaotic, units stay at some distance from each other and fight in unison with 4 or 5 of their closest allies, advancing and pulling back. Makes fighting in the centre viable and spears usable by infantry.
Edit: Realistic Battle Mod, AI Module, it´s one of the better know mods on Nexus.
Beautiful. I expect you will adjust their wages and availability accordingly as well. What percentage of an average lord's or player's army will consist of elite units like this?
Yeah there'll be a brand new recruit system and fedual "call to arms" system behind. Just check on our follow-up development
Noice.
Deus Vult!
Allah'akbar!
Why bother with infantry in this mod just get bunch of knights and destroy every army in your way the impression i got from this video and the previous one that infantry are useless the only reason you would have infantry in your army is because recruitment limitations i hope that you will make infantry more deadly against cavalry in a balanced way overall good job really looking forward for this mod and a big fan of INJ 1 from warband
This is a very serious question. I don't know whether you have been playing vanilla bannerlord for a long time or not, but in my opinion, their battle numerical system is completely unsuitable for inj2 or any medieval mod about realistic theme. For example, you have 50 imperial cavalry, but there is nothing you can do to take 100 aserai farmers with forks they have just recruited from the village; Or your heavy cavalry was brutally destroyed against the battanian archers without any infantry support... The valandians are the weakest faction in bannerlord because cavalry are their best unit. I've had enough of this.
Vlandians are completely OP. Vlandian Knights, Banner Knights, Champions, Volugiers, and Sharpshooters are unstoppable. Every single Aserai Unit absolutely sucks, Aserai Tier 5 units at best come in 3rd place, and that's only the Master Archer.
These videos show a complete set of adjustments to combat values we did, from armor and weapons to the effects of various damage types on different armor and body parts, as well as some performances of AI, which took me more than 15 days to debug. This video shows the result that a gentleman who has spent more than ten years training himself, owns couple lands and the best equipment deserves, rather than being tragically forked away by some nameless farmer :(
But that would happen man. People with spears would regularly defeat trained and heavy mounted knights, same goes for crossbows. Spears were highly effective at stopping cavalry, full stop. It's also important to note fatigue. 100 foot knights taking on 500 infantry isn't realistic in the sense that the armor of 100 foot knights would start to way down, and 5 to 1 is quite an advantage.
In the video you mentioned you were fighting high quality infantry and they were useless against knights i am not saying make every infantry unit op against cavalry but make them practical
And yes i did play vanilla bannerlord a lot and it's kinda bad when it's comes to balance like damage and armor being useless all that i am asking is with some units like high level or even mid tier to hold the line
Well you can seize 500 infs like this video it's not that hard. But you can only have about 20-30 knights in equal level. So it's not a balanced fight. In history battles european army with 5000-8000 numbers usually have only 300-500 knights. The test result is to give people faith that we can deal with the ****** combat value of vanilla but not to tell people they can crush everything with mindless using cavalry. Inj1 is very difficult. This is our design style. Just now the progress of inj2 has not reached the level that can show people an overall balance, so please continue to wait for more progress
Sure good luck with the development can't wait for more updates
Looking forward to the mod, everything is looking very nice. Just wondering about where your dev team is in terms of progress?
