This project is the continuation of our work in Warband crusade MOD "In the Name of Jerusalem". We will continue to extend and improve the old settings. The new campaign map will expand to the Upper Danube, the Nile Delta, the Dinaric Alps, and Transcaucasia. The Bulgarian Empire and Grand Principality of Serbia will be added. Kingdom of Georgia, the Saltukids and the Artuqids (probably Eldiguzids) may comes later. The timeline still starts from 1187, but we will try to add more interesting historical events until 1204 - including the Fourth Crusade.

Weren't there 3 lions instead of 2 on the shield? also a crowned bascinet might be a better looking option than the current helmet.

Do some history research to this great king, then you will know why he looks like this.

Sorry I wasnt trying to be rude. I know about the lionheart (my name hello!) but the english royal arms were 3 lions and not 2. Richard was of the house of anjou and plantagenet and their coat of arms is this:
En.wikipedia.org(Royal_MS_14_C_VII,_100r).jpg
.

Also here was a depiction of him meeting king philip of france:
En.wikipedia.org

And also there is a historical record of 60 knights and 400 'archers' (a common term for longbowman in that time) who fought for Richard who were captured by his father after saintes was captured. It would be amazing to see longbows in this mod.

This shield with two lions on it appear in one of his seal:

And the "English longbow" is not a very popular feature yet in the period of our mod; some historian argues that they only become "popular" since the mid or late 13th century.

Thanks man. I'll explain why Richard should be this image again. First of all, his seal before 1190 is like this, you can see clearly that he's wearing a round top helmet with a nasal, which is the newest style in the late 12th century; he's wearing a long tunic with a standard hauberk with mittens on the outside. The shield is obviously a flat top kite shield. The lion is on the side of the view. So we speculate that there is a same lion on the other side.
Now let's talk about Longbowman. Longbowman didn't exist until Edward I ruled. Archer sometimes refers to a crossbows in medieval. If you have studied some of the Third Crusade battles, you will find that King Richard is very good at commanding crossbows. And I need to point out that there were many yeoman crossbowman in the 12th century, and the crossbow was the most powerful ranged weapon in Europe in the 12th century.
Of course, I'm not saying that Europeans didn't use bows in the 12th-13th century. Bows are also very powerful weapons, but they need a long time of training. Most European self bows are long, so sometimes they look similar to longbows. In inj2, European bowmen use the long self bows. You can think of them as longbowmen.

Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work in this. You also seem to be very dedicated to historical accuracy which is s awesome and you certainly appear far more knowledgeable about this period than I could ever hope to be. However, I do want to say that the helmet here looks a little derpy, it extends so high up and ends so abruptly and flatly at the top. I could only find a few examples of historical round top helmets of this description from this period. Is it really so much more likely to have been worn by King Richard and others than a more... well, attractive style of round top? I hope I haven't overstepped my mark, and thank you again so much for all your time and dedication, it is so appreciated.

Thank you for getting back to me. The only time I know richard commanding crossbows was when he was ill outside the walls of acre and asked to be carried around and was firing crossbow at the walls.
Also ur absolutely right about his sigil. It does seem to have been 2 lions rearing up. Richard adopted 3 lions when he returned from the crusades. I cannot yet seem to find any accurate depictions of the helmet. But u must have some sources.
Also in most depictions of knights in that era, their horses would be barded. Have you guys got any plans to add any barding or caparisons to the horses?

You can find relevant information in our 3rd dev blog, as we illustrate some of the house wear at the period.
