You only need this if you want to run a server. Other data is for client + server.
Horror Quake - QuakeWorld Edition
Note: You do not need this file if you only want to play as a client
for HorrorshowQW. Only servers need this file. HOWEVER, make sure you
installed horrorshow to a directory called HORROR. If you didn't, simply
rename it. If you do not do this, QuakeWorld will start downloading files
to you.
Getting a server started..
The only thing that is included in this release is the qwprogs.dat. All the
other resources like the models and maps can be taken from the origional
horrorshow release. So, what you'll need to do is download HORROR.ZIP from
my page, and unzip it to a directory called HORROR. You may want to delete
the progs.dat file which is created, since it is not needed, and I'm not
sure whether it will interfere. Next, unzip this zip (HORRQW.ZIP) into the
HORROR directory. This is all you should need to do. Of course, you will
also need to set up the appropriate variables in your server.cfg file. A
sample server.cfg is included.
Recommended frag limit/time limit:
I usually use timelimit 10, fraglimit 20. This makes for an average length
round, with somewhat fair rules for 4-5 people. By this, the killer would have
to kill 2 people every minute in order to win. If you are playing with more
people, you may want to shorten the time limit or increase the frag limit.
Note that the game is supposed to add new killer for every 5 people (or was
that five victims?)... So game with 14 people will have 2 killers. However,
I haven't tested this. It *should* work. ;)
