When porting Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from the console platforms, Rockstar Games did not take into account the future popularity of high-resolution widescreen displays. Consequently, most of the game's 2D elements stretch horizontally when playing in widescreen resolutions. This extends from the HUD to loading screens, and even the fonts used for all of the game's text. This mod aims to remedy this issue by providing new, higher resolution user interface textures that are provided in the correct aspect ratio for 16:10 displays.
