Hope you are enjoying Beta 5 and discovering the many changes introduced in this version of the mod. This release has no doubt attracted a lot of attention and the responses I got were very welcoming... in most cases.
Even before Beta 5 was finished I have already started thinking about what I want to put in the next version and believe me the amount of changes and additions the mod has the potential to include it massive, hopefully all of those can be implemented properly by the final release when the mod is no longer in Beta stage.
I would like to mention the lack of OOB's (order of battle - the starting armies for each nation) and what I plan to do about that. As you may or may not know the person who was in charge of the OOB files for Beta 5 has disappeared very close to the release of Beta 5 which didn't leave me enough time to put in proper OOB's into the game.
After the release of Beta 5 I have had numerous suggestions from people who wanted to help with those and mostly these people are from the countries that they want to make the OOB for which probably should raise the accuracy of the OOB. This has led me to the decision to put the OOB creation task in the hands of the community.
This means that if you want to see a proper OOB for your country and you have the minimal skill required to make it you are welcome to create it and I will make sure it is integrated into the mod with you properly credited as the creator of the OOB.
The reason for this decision is because OOB's take a long time to make with little value, just think about the fact that you have to spent hours in making a proper, accurate OOB and that whole OOB is destroyed in a matter of minutes once the country that uses the OOB goes to war.
Modern Warfare has a very small team and luckily I no longer work on it completely alone but the team is nevertheless very small so putting the time and effort into these OOB's instead of making progress on more important aspect of the game is not something I want to do.
This doesn't mean that there won't be any OOB's created by the team working on the mod but it would sure go faster if people send them to us and we can just run them thru a QA session to make sure they meet the standard we want them to be at... you have to remember that the mod has about 200+ countries and about 7 different bookmarks... that is a lot of work with small value.
Currently these countries already have their OOB's done for Beta 5.1:
- USA
- Australia
- Sweden
- Germany
- Italy
- United Kingdom
The next version of the mod will not be Beta 6 but Beta 5.1 since there are key issues that I want to fix, these include (but are not limited to):
- Neutrality cannot be lowered by smaller countries.
- A bug that prevents the US from landing troops in Afghanistan.
- Finishing up the tech tree with Industry and Strategic techs.
- Adding models and images for units.

After these are done I will move on to Beta 6 which will introduce new features you can play with.
Also, you may have noticed that a Paypal donation button has been added to this page and the forums. I have given this a lot of thought and decided to allow people who have the means to contribute to the development of the mod.
This was mostly done since during the release of the last Beta I have realized just how much my old computer is slowing me down, it is dying and that affects the speed and effectiveness of my development efforts. Unfortunately I do not have the means to buy a new computer right now but with a little help I might just be able to.
I would like to point out that this is in no way a condition for me working or not working on the mod. It would simply make the development quicker and less cumbersome... please only donate if you have the amount to spare and only if you truly feel you want to, any amount would help.
While I would love nothing more than to help the only real thing I would be good as would be a historian if you would I have no skill in modeling, texturing, or scripting. But I wish you the best of luck.
What the **** are OOBs? Couldn't once just mention what they are without an acronym?

The mod is intended for players who are already familiar with the game so I assumed everyone knows what I talk about.
Still, I will add an explanation in case there is doubt.
Back when this was Beta 3 I made an event for if one Korea annexed the other, the annexed would lose the cores. If North Korea was the unifier, they'd get the option to claim the Tsushima Islands, since South Korea once had a claim to them. Since that province is gone all that I can suggest is an event where the annexed looses the cores.
I want to help you with the French OOB, how can i ?
If you know how to create the OOB just make it, send it to me and I will make sure it is included in the next version ;)

Otherwise, I can start a game with France , do it manually (with cheat ) & communicating the backup to you & you extract it ?
