You take the role of Nick Farrel, a technical engineer in Delta Base - the complex that competes with Black Mesa in various research fields including exploration of the borderworld Xen and weapon development. Due to accidental entanglement of two different experiments conducted at the same time the infamous resonance cascade affects the Delta Base as well, bringing the hostile alien lifeforms which infest the facility very soon.

Hi everyone! I have a small announcement for you!

I see most of you like my mod, but there were problems with low FPS, hard monsters, difficult balance and some little, but annoying things.. I have decided to fix these issues in HLD. I'll upload big update in the nearest future (until the end of this year) with description of all new moments. Also, add some new content and features. Hope, you'll like it!

After this I'll upload all sources of mod (all maps and code).

I think the mod was really well balanced in terms of all supplies, but I didn't find it hard... And I've played on Hard.

I haven´t played on Easy or Medium but on Hard, check my review and I think it was really intense like that.
People should learn how to play the game and what save & load are made for.
You should not make it super easy, no need for that.

I played on hard, and I though the difficulty was perfect. I died a few times, but I expect that from the hard difficulty.

Supplies were perfectly balanced. I had to switch weapons often, to ensure I always shoot with the gun that has the most ammo. so when I find an ammo supply I can pick it up.

The only bug I encountered was at the beginning, the security guard de-spawned when you encounter the first zombies. So I was searching for half an hour to figure out how to open the door. Loading an earlier saved game fixed the issue.

I like the xen fight in the tunnels with the big enemy on top. It reminded me of the tunnel fight in half life with the soldiers and the tank on top.

The whole game feels like a half life alternative universe reboot. Very similar to the original game, with new content, levels and weapons.

Other than that, the only thing I would change is adding English voices and fixing a bunch of grammar mistakes in the English subtitles. Currently they feel a bit "google translated".

It is crazy that you spend 12 years on this and are not asking for any money for this mod. Great work!!!

Its a bit sad to hear that. I wish there was a way to keep hard difficulty unaltered while tweaking lower ones. Oh wait, isnt that possible with skill.cfg???

So far is well balanced and yes few bugs here and there but i think the main problem is the damage deal to enemies, im currently playing it and i just started chapter 3 and the first zombie took 4 shotguns at close range, when other times the same zombie just took 2. so probably that is the dificulty people may be talking about because shoot 4 .357 to the enemy face and they dont die something is kind of broken there, also im playing it at normal, hope it helps

Zombie soldier has a broken hitbox of the head. You can't hurt him by critical (with a damage multiplier) headshot.

Я пока весь мод не прошел (дошел только до третьей главы, играю на нормальном), но поправь пожалуйста перезарядку подствольника, если возможно. Ужасно раздражает, когда он перезаряжается сразу после выстрела, и либо проходится долго ждать, либо отменять анимацию быстро переключаясь на другое оружие.

В Sven Co-op и Killzone например, подствольники перезаряжались по нажатию алтернативки, если он был не заряжен.

Я бы ещё отметил, что урон у револьвера и Дигла почти одинаковый, монстры всё-равно дохнут от одинакового кол-ва выстрелов, разве что Дигл стреляет быстрее. Можно изменить урон к какой-нибудь пушке: либо сделать Дигл чуть слабее, либо Питон посильнее - так разница между ними будет более выраженной (Но лично я за бафф Питона)

Подствольник когда-то давно был с перезарядкой, мне один чел дал код для этого, но он был жутко забагованный. Я понимаю, что с точки зрения игрового опыта игроку удобннее полностью контролировать процесс, но у меня, к сожалению, не оказалось адекватной возможности это реализовать.
Сейчас же я работаю над апдейтом для мода. Вторая глава (и самая большая) получилась местами слишком душной. Пока что это основной вектор работы. Если время и силы останутся - обязательно вернусь к теме подствольника. Дигл и револьвер уже получили изменения в виде добавления альтернативных атак (ну, это с апдейтом увидите).

Я тут подумал, бафф Питона не лучшая идея. Он и так довольно мощный, а так он вообще будет ваншотить вортигонтов за пол карты выстрелом в ногу.

Доиграл до конца, кстати, очень понравилось. У меня других замечаний по поводу баланса нет, патронов всегда хватало. Можно, наверное, добавить чуть больше батареек во вторую главу, а так все было класс.

Кстати, в третьем слоте пушки идут от лучшей к худшей, что если поменять M4 и СМГ в инвентаре местами?
