Depending on which modules a base has, it tells you which goods it sells without the need of docking:
Fire control tower: Guaranteed Sells mk1-5 weapons, base defenses are stronger
Platform control tower: Guaranteed Sells mk5-10 weapons, base will contain weapon platforms around
Fighter Production: It sells fighter class ships
Corvette Production: It sells corvette class ships
Frigate Production: It sells frigate class ships
Capital Production: It sells capital and destroyer class ships

This shipyard is telling you it sells capital ships and also mk1-10 weapons.
