How to install this game?
Run the installer from your Freelancer DVD.
And if one does not have a copy of the Freelancer disc? there is no legal distribution of this game...

It was never made to be compatible with other mods. So unfortunately I can't guarantee that it'll work.

I just runnig in a bug while installing the mod.
The progress sliders runs infinite, while downloading from GitHub, without a relative progress bar and exits with an error.
I could fix this by downloading the sources via:
github.com/BC46/freelancer-hd-edition/archive/refs/tags/0.4.1.zip
And copy and extract it to:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Freelancer HD Edition
Then the progress slider shows then a relative bar.
But 7zip has shown an error, while unzipping the file. So maybe this has produced the error.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. We've updated the installer multiple times since you left that comment. One of the changes include several mirrors that will be used in case the GitHub download fails.

I tried using the installer but got errors about files not being able to be copied. Downloading directly from GitHub and pasting the files worked, but now I don't know where to set all the things the installer would ask me about (draw distance, renderer, ship trails, etc.). :?
Unfortunately at this time it's only possible to specify custom options in the installer. A configurator/launcher is being worked on but it'll take a while before that's finished.
Which error messages are you getting exactly?

Hi, there is a problem when you land on Leeds system, every room you go to goes dark and you can't get out of it. Can y'all fix it, or know a solution? changing resolution didn't help, neither restarting the game, rebooting or else...

Hi. Installed, but the game does not start from the Freelancer HD Edition exe.
It start from the original exe, it had at first 4k resolution but some items did not fit in the screen. Now 4k is not anymore as an option, max is 1600xsmth. Any idea?
